Kymberli C. Ive gotten my hair done at Flip Styles by Mirlanda twice now. The first installation was a side part with two bundles of her straight 20" hair. My current style is a middle part 18" and 20" traditional sew in with three of her straight bundles. Overall, Mirlandas technique is good. Her customer service is good, and she engages in good conversation. Her shop is always clean and so is her bathroom. I love that its a private suite and typically one client at a time. The first traditional sew in was nice to look at and was not painful. When taking it out, I had no issues. The only critique I have of that sew in was when I requested a black dye, she used a Revlon box dye (the kind from Walmart) I let her do it because I had a wedding to attend and it didnt occur to me to ask because usually stylist use better quality products. I also went to get a wash and retighten after a month and felt incomplete. The wash was something I should have done myself because after I got home, my scalp was still a little damp to touch. The second install seems to be better, but Im a little scared that when I take it out, the rubber band she put in my real hair underneath might tangle with my new growth. Ill most likely take this installation out after a month, just in case. I would go back to
Mirlanda but maybe be a bit more vocal about how I would like my foundation to be, braided with braiding hair added like she did with my first install since my natural hair is on the shorter side. I included pictures of what my foundation looked like underneath after I took my hair down. I got my install done on January 27th.

B Ayers I enjoyed my experience. The atmosphere was very calm and pleasant. Very clean salon and I got in and out. She was waiting on me as I arrived and got straight to it. She also communicates well. I will definitely book again.

rashell estacio This is genuinely the worst experience of my life. Ive never had to leave a negative review in my life. She did a sew in on my hair, and complained about my extensions not being real, saying I got scammed, ans that the hair was so knotty, when I actually got the most compliments possible on the hair I used. It made me feel horrible. After the extensions were done, it hurt horribly and it took 4-5 days for it to not be unbareable. She told me because of my extensions not being real that maintences wouldnt be possible so I couldnt book that with her. I took care of it and a month later I booked another appointment for another sew in. It was over 60 dollars to book that appointment, and I had already bought the hair extensions that she recommended. Day before my appointment, I sit infront of my mirror with bright lights, and start to take off the sew in. My friend from the state I was born in is a hair stylist herself and has her degree in cosmetology, and she helped me with the process. While doing the process, me and her noticed that the thread she had sewn was knotted into my actual hair. Not just sewn a loop through, but tied into some terrible knot to keep the sew in in place, resulting in major hair loss. The thread is black while my hair is brown with blonde ends, so seeing the thread wasnt an issue. It took me 6 hours to fully take them all of and there were pieces that she embedded so much into my natural hair I had to leave until I unbraided my hair and were able to slide the knot off. I brushed my hair out and did treatments and around 50% of my hair ended up coming out. Asking my friend who has her degree and specializes in sew ins, she advised me that thats not right, and that the sew in done on me was not done by a proffesional. I obviously became terribly afraid as I knew if I went to my appointment the next day, when Id remove the next sew in, Id have absoloutely no hair from this place. I texted her in tears about everything, and she blamed everything on me. Absolutely unreal. She said that she "knew" what happened and continued to say that I had CUT my own hair. Once again, the thread was black my hairs brown. Im not stupid or blind and I wouldnt take 6 hours if I were just chopping through my hair. She then tells me I shouldnt watch videos on youtube about how to remove an install. Which is just ridiculous because those videos showed me the severity of my hair getting damaged. She shows me a far away video of her sewing the middle part, which was just loops, skipping the parts where the thread and extension was truly knotted into my actual hair. She says "This is me doing your sew in as I do every other client. There’s nothing vicious, tugging or pulling. We always have a cap protecting your natural hair." I never said she was pulling or tugging my hair, and the "cap" was a
fish net*pic included* that she clearly missed multiple times, rather than the nude colored caps that professionals use for protecting your hair. She then shows me doing some other random person getting their sew in off as if it has anything to do with me and my hair. She says "And this is me removing a sew in. No hair lost. Or knotted into the natural hair. No vicious act." Once again, this person has completely different hair for me and is a different person. She ends it all with a fake apology saying shes sorry this happened to me, but I wasnt experienced and I have seeked "proffesional" help. Not to mention, I dont know how, but she took 100 dollars from my account, having my account go into overdraft. 100 dollars she did not confirm with me, I did not sign any agreeance of on, and rather just took it without my authorization.100 dollars for making my hair fall out. Its truly disgusting since Its apparent money is what she cares about rather than her clients. What any proffesional business shouldve said was "Im sorry to hear that, how can we help you?" rather than blaming everything on me for the service SHE did. What hurts more than anything was that even though the job was done poorly, I gave a great. tip.
