1 /5 P J: We had water damage from a toilet seal in a bathroom and it caused damage to walls around the edge of our bathroom, our brand new bathroom vanity we put in 8 months prior and then to secondary damage caused by a leak from the guest front sink that led to our bedroom, we got damage to the closet, our bedroom floor and master bedroom. State Farm in Crestview adjustor only approved $158 and Sureclean clean up bill alone was $7,000. We haven’t even reached out to the company that will repair our hone. Our adjustor did not call us to go over the claim decision to explain it but just emailed it to us. We call our local office of State Farm in Crestview Ann Teel Hatcher, talk to her staff and even a supervisor because we can’t get our adjustor to call us back and they tell us there is nothing they can do, that they can’t email or call our adjustor and that we will just have to reach out ourself. We ask this office how to appeal and where to find the paperwork and they tell us we have to call the adjustor again who hasn’t called us back. We are further told by this office that the adjustor called them to give them a heads up that we were not going to be happy about the outcome. We were not called but he had time to call the local office. It’s sounds to me that the adjustor was covering for himself and his decision. Who would not be upset about property damage that right now is at $7,000 and we haven’t even looked into repairs yet. We did not cause this damage, Our home is in great shape and we keep it up. Who lifts up their toilet to check water seals. You do not know you have a leak until you see water and when we saw it by our tub we called a plummer right away. No mold damage was found. My husband started out with State Farm in 1976 when he was 16 and he is 65 years old and we have kept them all these years and never had one issue with them. We have been able to pick up the phone to our local office or adjustor and get help and guidance. We just moved back from Wetumpka Alabama and the office there was great and any claims we had were handled promptly snd fairly. The office here just seemed so indifferent or unconcerned about our issue and offered no help. The adjustor doesn’t call back promptly and does not do the reviews fairly and justly. You hear these commercial where insurances care about you and how they are going to handle your stress, jump on claims and give you personalized service and this is by far the worst customer service that we have ever received and we feel we have been so mistreated.
