1 /5 Greg Feaster: Title: Unfortunately, Not the Experience I Hoped For
I visited this gym twice, hoping to give it a fair chance before making any judgments — but unfortunately, both visits left a negative impression.
On my first visit, no one greeted me at all. The overall atmosphere felt cliquish and uninviting, so I decided to leave and return another day, thinking maybe I had just caught them at a bad time.
On my second visit, the “owner” himself didn’t say a word when I arrived. At other gyms I’ve visited, owners have gone out of their way to stop what they’re doing, greet me, and show me around — even while in the middle of a class. That level of professionalism and courtesy sets the bar high, and unfortunately, this gym fell short of that standard.
To make matters worse, the “owner” looked me up and down in what came across as a judgmental way, tossed a flyer in my direction, and walked off without offering a tour or any real engagement. The gym itself appeared underdeveloped, poorly lit, and somewhat unkept, which may have been amplified by the discomfort I felt from that interaction.
I’ve read others’ positive reviews, and I don’t doubt their experiences — but this was my experience. I truly respect the effort it takes to start and grow a business, and I wish the “owner” success in getting established. However, a major area for improvement lies in his attitude and approach toward potential members.
Coming from Chicago, I’ve seen all kinds of people and personalities, but at this stage in my life, I’ve moved beyond arrogance and the need to prove masculinity. I simply value respect and professionalism.
I sincerely wish this gym the best moving forward — but as for me and my son, our money will not be going here. Ever.
