I’ve had a truly awful experience with GTE Bank, and I want to warn others before they make the same mistake. They charge hidden fees on loans—specifically, if you accidentally enter incorrect payment information, they hit you with a fee without any warning or notification. You won’t find out until you check your account and see an unexpected charge.
When I reached out to their customer service for clarification, I was met with rude, unhelpful representatives who couldn’t care less about resolving the issue. They were dismissive, lacked any empathy, and refused to acknowledge how unfair their policies are. Instead of trying to assist, they just repeated their policy over and over like a script.
A good bank should be transparent and customer-focused—GTE is neither. If you’re considering banking with them, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are plenty of better financial institutions that won’t nickel-and-dime you with unfair charges or treat you like an inconvenience when you need help.
