1 /5 Annie V: I hired Ms. Butler to fight a ticket. I had dash-cam footage showing I wasn’t at fault. She was also supposed to obtain the officers video and/or audio. 3 days before my court date I called to see if she had gotten the video from the police and she said no at first then realized it was in my file. She was supposed to review it before hand but wasn’t even aware of her office receiving it. She tried to get me to plea no-contest but I asked her why would I plea no contest when I’m innocent AND have proof. The officer had also made false statements regarding my statement to him about the accident on the police report which is why I wanted his video to begin with. She never reviewed it and didn’t call me back or contact me before I had to go to court. She said she would meet me there 15 minutes before it started to go over everything but showed up 20 minutes late and her hair, makeup, and clothes looked like she just rolled out of bed. She had also told me that she usually gets called first so while she was sleeping in I was sitting there terrified that I was going to be called and I didn’t have an attorney. She made a deal behind my back with the DA and even though I said no to the plea of no contest she ignored that and in front of the judge while he was asking me questions she refused to open her mouth to the point of the judge being confused as to what the plea was going to be. The judge put my plea as not guilty because when he asked if I agreed to the plea, she wouldn’t respond and left me to speak for myself. The next court date she didn’t even show up. She tried to send some random attorney who not only didn’t show up but also sent another attorney in his place who, turns out, was legally not allowed to represent me. I told her all of this and requested my money be returned since she tried to screw me over or sabotage my case but I haven’t heard back from her. Ms. Butler, I want my money back. All of it. You’re the most unprofessional “professional” I’ve had the misfortune of hiring.
