1 /5 D: Iāve been a loyal Planet Fitness member at this location for over 2 years and always enjoyed my workoutsāuntil recently. I was working out with another member that is a personal trainer and have been doing so twice a week for almost six months without any issue or objections from staff. Today, Nate, whom Iād never seen before came over rather aggressively, in a very confrontational tone and accused us of trespassing, and claimed trainers arenāt allowed and told us to leave. I was very confused and asked him to show me where this rule is stated in the membership policy that one member cannot train another member because I wasnt aware. I even checked the app and there was nothing there explaining this restriction. I thought it was allowed especially since we have been training there for months and again no one said anything and there are no signs posted anywhere so I wasnt aware I was violating any policy. Instead of clarifying or de-escalating the situation by simply asking us not to do it again, he shut down, refused to talk to us and escalated the situation even further by calling the police, and having me trespassed from the gym Iāve consistently attended for almost 3 years. I didnt raise my voice. I didnt get nasty. I just asked him to show me the policy and he initially agreed until I asked him not to talk to me in that tone anymore and it wasnt necessary for him to be so nasty to us because as far as we knew, we werent doing anything wrong. I explained I am also a manger and do not speak to people that way and for him to understand there are real people he is directing his tone to. All we were doing was working out. He wouldnt listen and insisted we get out. Getting thrown out of the gym Ive been going to for years for working out was bad enough, but now I cannot go back without getting arrested! That is ridiculous! It was totally humiliating and completely unnecessary. This staff member should not be in a customer service role. Planet Fitness corporate needs to review how their policies are communicated and how their staff treats paying members. This staff memberās behavior was completely inappropriate and reflects poorly on the Planet Fitness brand. He displayed no professionalism, no attempt at resolution, and no regard for customer service. I strongly believe this individual does not belong in a customer-facing role. I truly enjoy being a part of the Planet Fitness community, but this experience has left me insulted and disheartened. I hope that corporate takes this matter seriously and ensures that no other loyal member is subjected to such treatment.
