2 /5 Karina Weber: I’’ve always appreciated the YMCA for being a family-friendly and affordable place to stay active, but I was really disappointed by the condition of the aquatic area during my recent visits.
To start, the cleanliness of the pool area is a major concern. The water appeared cloudy, and there was a noticeable chemical odor that didn’t seem normal—almost as if the chlorine levels were either way too high or not being managed properly. The pool tiles had a layer of grime, and I even noticed some mold around the drains and locker room floors, which is unacceptable for a facility that serves so many children and
On top of that, the locker rooms and showers were in poor shape—wet floors, clogged drains, and no soap in the dispensers.
I understand that staffing and maintenance can be a challenge, but basic hygiene and safety should always be a top priority, especially in shared water facilities. I’ve raised these concerns with staff, but I haven’t seen any improvements.
I really hope the YMCA takes this feedback seriously and invests more in keeping the aquatic area clean, safe, and well-supervised.
