5 /5 Rachel Lutz: If you are reading this, know that disgruntled people are usually the ones that are the loudest and write reviews. The content people that enjoy a place arent necessarily thinking about getting on the Internet and proclaiming their love.
I have an ESE degree and am certified to teach K-6 in FL (since credentials apparently matter). I am currently a Kindergarten teacher and have 40 hours of OG training.
Let me share about Park School.
Park school only admits students with dyslexia. Since dyslexic kids often have comorbidities, yes, children may have more than dyslexia (dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADHD).
My daughter came from public school (which I still love) where the reading specialist tested her at the beginning of the year with colored strips and nonsense words. It was then that I knew that my daughter needed teachers that understood dyslexia. Her old school didnt have the trained personnel that could serve her neurodivergent brain well. While at Park School, my daughter has made significant gains in reading. Her confidence in herself as a person and academically has exploded. She NEVER loved going to school until Park School. Now she doesnt want to be sick and doesnt want to get in the car at pick up because she wants to stay at school. Until youve had a child that dreaded school, you cant appreciate what a gift it is for a child to absolutely love it.
Not all schools are for everyone. But Park School is a special place with very knowledgeable, kind, caring, and responsive staff. We have had no issues and are very happy to be there. Finding a school fit for a child can be tiring and difficult. We are glad weve found the perfect fit for our kid. We have no plans of leaving.
