5 /5 Jasmine Alfaro: Southeastern College has provided me with an incredible experience as a future Physician Assistant (PA) student. I participated in an 8-month online program, which was perfect for my circumstances. Whenever I had the opportunity, I would visit the campus in Miami Lakes to gain hands-on experience in my clinical studies, such as drawing blood, performing EKGs, and taking vital signs. This experience has been an invaluable step on my journey to becoming a physician assistant in the future. During the 8 months of online learning, the instructors were exceptional and highly knowledgeable. I never hesitated to reach out for help if I didn’t understand a subject or needed guidance on an assignment. The instructors genuinely cared about my education and ensured I grasped the material thoroughly. After completing my coursework, I went on to my externship in Deerfield, which lasted four weeks. I learned a tremendous amount during this time and was even hired within my fourth week. I couldn’t be happier with my education at Southeastern!

From the very beginning, I felt supported and encouraged by both the program and my instructor. The course was comprehensive and gave me a solid foundation in medical terminology, patient care, and administrative tasks that are essential to a medical assistant’s role. What stood out the most was the guidance I received from my teacher. They were not only highly knowledgeable but also patient, approachable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that I understood the material. They fostered an environment where questions were welcomed, and hands-on practice was emphasized, which helped me feel confident and prepared for real-world situations. The curriculum was well-structured, with a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. I particularly appreciated the clinical rotations and labs that allowed me to apply what I had learned in a real healthcare setting. These experiences were invaluable in making me feel ready for my future career as a medical assistant. Overall, I am thankful for the positive learning environment and the thorough instruction provided throughout the program. My teacher’s dedication to my success truly made a difference, and I am excited to move forward in my career with the knowledge and skills I gained from this program.

5 /5 CeCe Goldstein: Ms. Knox is a wonderful teacher who cares about the success of her students. She makes sure we understand what we learn and apply it to real world situations in lab. She also shares her stories of when she was a surgical tech so we can truly get an idea of what this career is like. She is the best teacher I’ve ever had.

I faced challenges that pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, develop resilience, and stay determined. Along the way, I met incredible people who supported and motivated me, making the experience even more meaningful. The knowledge and skills I gained not only prepared me for the future but also gave me a sense of confidence in my abilities. Completing the basic X- ray program is a proud moment, marking the start of new opportunities ahead.

The externship experience was incredibly valuable, providing me with hands-on training that deepened my understanding of medical office procedures and patient care. I gained a lot of practical skills, from assisting with medical exams to managing patient records, and it gave me the confidence to step into a healthcare setting with real-world experience.
