5 /5 Paul: Fabulous!!! I did not expect to find an establishment of such lofty caliber in central Florida, the home of horses and BBQ. I have reviewed hundreds of restaurants. The flavors I experienced at 18 South were among the very best from around the world. The elk I ordered rolled over my tongue with the texture and taste of pure pleasure. My wife’s filet mignon was more flavorful than the best aged chuletón steaks from the Basque or any hand cut Patagonian beef. My brother’s Chilean sea bass was the best he had ever tasted. The atmosphere of this distinguished third floor eatery is reminiscent of Great Gatsby like opulence. Despite 18 South’s high end appearance the staff displayed no evidence of pretentiousness. We were invited in by the hostess after standing nearby for hours to watch the “Light Up Ocala” festivities, in our casual wear. This is now our go-to restaurant in Ocala.

5 /5 Carmel Bledsoe: We had a party of 4, reserved a spot just hours prior on a Friday night which was a pleasant surprise. Our servers Bennett and Brooke were amazingly attentive and offered great wine and drink paring options. The bread service was fantastic. We all ordered different entrees, shared and compared. We decided on the grouper dish , the sea bass, the rib eye and venison, potatoes, and mushrooms. Everything was phenomenal and even though we had no more room, we shared two deserts… the chocolate espresso lava cake and a parfait (I think) with fruit marinated in Grand Marnier …. To die for. We were even entertained by an impromptu song and piano solo by server and upcoming artist Bennett! Best of all was the visit from the main Chef Dan himself… to check in on us to see how our experience went and he humbly asked for opportunities for improvement . Wow… it was an incredible dining experience. Wear loose waistband clothes because you’ll want room to eat and eat! Bravo!!! Love it!

5 /5 Jack Redding: Review of 18 South Ocala I just flew in from New York after being away for six months, and as always, 18 South did not disappoint. They’ve refreshed their menu, and I was pleasantly surprised by the new protein options and specials. We ordered the 18S Dinner for Two — a perfectly cooked ribeye and filet, accompanied by two prawns, two fresh salads, and two house-made sides. Everything was prepared beautifully, and the portions were just right. Pairing it with selections from their great wine menu made the evening even better. The atmosphere is warm and special, the kind of place where you immediately feel welcome and taken care of. The service was attentive and genuine, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. 18 South is consistently one of my favorite spots in Ocala — it always feels like a treat to be here. Highly recommend! ⸻ Tastefully done bar and restaurant with extensive and high quality wine list at great price points. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Only had dessert and wine so looking forward to dinner or brunch soon.

5 /5 Jessica Marie: Service with Austin was 11/10. It was our first night here and we will gladly be back! I had the filet and my husband had the lobster roll and loaded mash. Both entrees were outstanding! Love the atmosphere, as well. Great experience all around!
