4 /5 Sponge Bob: Bett’s Big T Restaurant was an interesting place for a meal. We visited in May 2025. It’s easy to miss the entrance because it’s before the actual building and sign for the building. But not drastically so. We missed it and just took the second entrance past Big T. It is set up like an old truck stop and from what I understand, that is exactly what it is. I was told it was a very popular truck stop back in the days when the road was far less traveled along there.
The building itself shows signs of its age and history, yet is still inviting to folks as a good place to stop and enjoy a good meal. There are some quirky things like a one stall unisex style bathroom in the back room. But that is only the toilet section. The sink and such is outside the restroom itself. Like I said, quirky. Then they have this row of three antique phone booths in the back room. There are no phones in the booths, but these three old wooded booths look to be in great shape. It gave the place a little more character.
The front room has mostly tables and such. But the back room was mostly booth tables. We were seated in the back room. As such, we sat in a booth. The food itself seemed decent. My meal was good. But it’s also fair to say that it was not absolutely the best meal that I’ve ever had. But it was pretty good and by far was not the worst. But let me be clear, we did enjoy our meal. So my comment was by no means meant to be a shot, or derogatory in any way. The food was good. But to be fair, it is also not 5 star cuisine. Just a good meal without all the fanciness .
We found the prices to also be reasonable. Obviously that depends on different peoples outlooks or opinions. But we found our meal to be reasonably priced for the meal we enjoyed. Our server did a great job and made us feel welcome. So all in all, I could see us stopping in to Bett’s Big T again. It’s not a fancy place. Nope it’s just an old truck stop with character, that happens to serve a good meal at a fair price. That works for me.
