5 /5 Shawn Dooley: After a long day of tackling the ol’ “honey-do” list, my wife and I decided we’d earned ourselves a good meal out. We rolled into Cedar River Seafood, and right from the start, it just felt welcoming. The host greeted us right away and got us seated — no waiting around, which was already a win.
Our waitress, Harper, came over with a big smile, took our drink order, and offered up some appetizer ideas (which we appreciated because by that point, I was ready to eat anything that wasn’t on the to-do list). When she brought our drinks, we went ahead and ordered dinner — she even had a few suggestions that turned out to be spot-on.
Salads came out first — crisp, cold, and fresh — and before we could even finish them, out came the main course. I went big with steak, lobster, and a baked potato. My wife had shrimp tacos that looked too good to share (trust me, I tried). The presentation was top-notch, and shout-out to Troy in the kitchen for nailing my steak and lobster perfectly. Everything had great flavor — you could tell they really care about the food here.
Harper checked on us throughout the meal, making sure we were good without hovering — it’s a small detail, but it makes a huge difference.
All in all, this place never disappoints. We come here probably twice a month, and it’s always consistently great food, friendly people, and a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for seafood done right (and a break from your honey-do list).
