1 /5 Jeffrey Journeycake: If I could give zero stars, I would. The food might have been fine (hard to say since we barely got any), but the service was absolutely awful. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. No greeting, no smile, just an annoyed host pointing us to a table. Our server took forever to show up, and when they finally did, they acted like taking our order was a chore. Drinks took every bit of 30 minutes to arrive. The Food took over two hours to hit the table. Not once did anyone check on us after dropping off the food, and flagging down help was nearly impossible because the staff avoided eye contact like it was a sport. I don’t care how good a kitchen is—if the service is this consistently careless and unfriendly, it ruins the entire experience. This place clearly doesn’t value its customers, and I won’t be back. The picture is their “boneless wings” it actually chopped up chicken tenders. The sweet potato fries were cold and soggy, the chicken tenders we ordered for our kids were over cooked and burnt.

4 /5 Jon Blair: Stopped into Crooked Tale while passing through Crestview and it turned out to be a solid find. It’s more of a sports bar vibe — casual, energetic, and comfortable, with football playing on the TVs and a good crowd. I ordered a glass of Basil Hayden whiskey, which was smooth and poured well. For food, I went with the burger and the staff-recommended mac and cheese. The burger was pretty basic in presentation but still appetizing and hit the spot. The mac and cheese was the standout — creamy white cheddar topped with crispy bacon — rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want in comfort food. Service was friendly and quick, and prices felt fair for the quality. Overall, Crooked Tale is a great local stop if you’re looking for good food, whiskey, and a relaxed sports-bar atmosphere. I’d definitely come back on game day.

1 /5 Michael Richardson: Had an absolute hankering for some Mahi tonight and from looking at the online menu saw an"Five Families Fish" meal and got completely thrown off by the "In-Person" menu which the closest thing they actually had was Mahi Fish tacos so I went with that. The fish was nicely paired with the avocado but the tortilla was too stiff and the service is absolute crap. I simply asked for an extra napkin for the sauce and the bar maid acknowledged and was like "Sure thing." Then never did it. Same thing when I initially sat down and she asked what I would like to drink. I said "Unsweet tea, please." and she acknowledged then five minutes later asked If needed a drink. I honestly do not mind tucking her tip money right back in my pocket though. The live band was pretty decent but other than that. Boring with bad food that has a completely misleading advertisement. Ill have to find seafood at a GOOD restaurant at some point this weekend to make up for the waste of money and energy here. I will say they do have a nice selection of beer on tap, though Or, at the labeling on the handles would lead a person to believe they did.

4 /5 Lmchic nonya: The hubby and I stopped in for brunch and overall had a decent experience. Service was good, especially considering there were only two servers covering the whole dining room. They did a nice job keeping up with everyone. I do wish there were a few more non-breakfast brunch options on the menu. My Paloma cocktail was refreshing and delicious. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles — the waffles were perfectly crispy, but the chicken could use a little more flavor. I went with the steak and eggs, which I’d rate about 3/5, but the brunch potatoes were amazing — seasoned just right and definitely the highlight of my meal. All in all, we enjoyed our visit and would come back, but a little more variety and consistency in the dishes would make this place even better.
