3 /5 Greg and Elisa Allender: Update: The restaurant was true to their word and refunded what they overcharged me. I honestly didnt think it would be worth calling them 2 days later because I didnt think they would believe me and I am 4 hours away so I chalked it up to money lost. I do truly appreciate that yall made it right. I changed my rating to a 3 star. As I said before, The food was outstanding and the portions were perfect but the staff needs to be a little friendlier and more welcoming to get a five-star in my opinion. We entered this small restaurant and stood there for a moment trying to figure out what to do until someone told us we could either order from the menu at the register or go through the hot bar. We opted to order off the menu. The older woman working the register was not at all friendly. She kept cutting me off when I was trying to order and she was just downright rude. Our food was brought out to us and we were very happy with the portion sizes. The food was terrific! After I left town and got home and was going through my expenses for the trip I realized the old lady charged me for 2 hot bars as well as what we ordered off the menu! So, an extra $16.00 for something I didnt get. If you are an out of towner and you go here, I suggest checking your receipt really good BEFORE you leave!

5 /5 Gritter Griffin: A lovely little “dive” restaurant in Appalachicola. Buffet breakfast for under $10 and option of lunch from buffet style or menu order. I am a Reuben snob and the Reuben I had there was the best I have had in many, many years. There are only 7 tables (4 toppers) but turnover seemed pretty quick and lots of peeps doing takeout. All the food is fresh prepared in their kitchen. Even the fries are fresh cut. Sumptuous southern eating at its best. This is a definite stop and try if you are in the area. Such a perfect little place.

5 /5 Allan Zuckerman: Value for dollar and the best basic family run Southern breakfast in town. Super casual atmosphere and you seat yourself in this gas station converted. It’s filled with locals and those smart enough to ask where’s the easiest and best breakfast in town. They put Cinnabon to shame! Had cheesy grits for the first time, thick country bacon and Pattie sausages all in generous portions Worth it. Say “hi” to Reagan for us… (look for the sister with blonde hair.) Don’t miss it! Leave a big tip!

2 /5 DJ: I visit the area a few times a year from Central Florida. I stopped in for the first time at lunch today. I was a bit confused by the setup. Instructions at the entry would help. My rueben was good, but nothing special. I liked the idea that the fries were hand-cut, but they were limp. Two tables near me received great service, multiple check ins from the waitress, refilled iced teas….like they were family. I had my sandwich dropped off (literally) and was never checked on again. I would like to have had some extra Thousand Island, but I certainly didn’t feel I should have to go to the counter to ask for it when I had already tipped 20% - why must I tip up front? I don’t carry cash. I did without the extra dressing. The cashier grumbled at me. The waitress grumbled, “Have a good one,” as I walked out the door. No one ever greeted me. Where was the service you asked me to pay for up front? Do you not like out-of-towners? My family has been in Central Florida for seven generations, pre-Disney. Does that count?
