1 /5 MAELSTROM: Extremely rude service on Christmas Eve.
I’ve always had good experiences at other La Carreta locations in Miami, but this one was very disappointing.
The restaurant showed as open online. I placed an order, was charged, and received a text saying my food was ready. When I arrived, the place looked closed. I called multiple times and they repeatedly hung up on me mid-call. After several attempts, they finally said the food was sent back to the kitchen because they were closed—then hung up again when I asked about a refund.
I went inside and saw staff sitting at the front desk, clocked in, with a very dismissive and unprofessional attitude. They eventually said the refund would be handled through DoorDash, but the entire interaction was handled with complete disrespect.
I understand working holidays isn’t easy (I’ve done it myself in hospitality), but that’s no excuse for rude behavior—especially when the restaurant is listed as open and still accepting orders. Very disappointing experience.
