5 /5 Pelissier Roxanne (Foxy Appetite): I’ve been to Pearl of the Island Cuisine & Lounge for brunch before, and this time I went back for the nighttime vibe to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. There was a bit of a wait outside, and while I understand crowd control, it did feel like security could have let more people in since there seemed to be space inside.
The music and vibe was really good, the DJ set the tone perfectly, and between the hookah and little games like Connect Four and checkers at the tables, it felt playful and social. It’s definitely more on the darker side inside, which adds to the lounge feel.
The Haitian food was good and nicely plated, and I genuinely love seeing a Haitian sit-down spot offering a more elevated experience while still keeping a fun, welcoming vibe. It made for a great night out celebrating with family.
