Tonys Clam Chowder Seafood Restaurant - Mt Dora (FL)

5 /5 Jasmine Cutler: My husband and I decided to head to Mount Dora for a one night getaway. We stayed in Mount Dora one other occasion over a decade earlier. We like the quaint area and small town feel. We also like to walk around the area and try out the food spots. They have an outdoor market on Sunday. We tried out this spot based on the reviews. The Chowder was sooooo good. The bowl was filled to the brim. It was tasty with the right amount of clams, potatoes, and creamy goodness. My husband got the crab cake salad and loved his meal as well. It was a great portion. I would suggest they use deeper bowls for the chowder. The employee found out it was our first time and gave me a free can to go and a bowl with instructions on how to make the chowder! I was pleasantly surprised by the generosity. It was a great value for the chowder, and we did not have to wait at all as we went on a Monday afternoon. We felt right at home. We would highly recommend this spot if in the Mount Dora area!

4 /5 Jon Rakin: The other day my wife and I visited Tonys Chowder House. We used to live in Maine and we know lobster. We had read good reviews and looked forward to sampling their food particularly the lobster rolls. Their restaurant is small with plenty of outdoor seating and a very friendly inside full of interesting decorations. We both ordered a lobster roll with two sides. I had the coleslaw and potato salad and my wife had french fries and coleslaw. All the sides were first rate. I really enjoyed the potato salad and fries. The lobster rolls were tasty but we can tell they were fresh frozen. Tonys is known for their New England style clam chowder. It is very good. Could have used more clams but all in all very tasty. We will definitely return to sample other dishes.

5 /5 Nicholas L.: Best clam chowder. We used to go to the Cedar Key location which is now closed. This was our first time at the Mt. Dora location. Busy place, but the staff kept up well. Clam chowder, hush puppies and popcorn shrimp were very good.

5 /5 Mel Z: I was looking for places to try around Mount Dora and I was pleasantly surprised by this option. Not only was it delish, but the restaurant is cozy, nicely decorated and the staff is friendly and attentive. When it is your first time dining in, they will give you a sample of their chowder and it sure is a nice touch! I went for the chowder and the crab cakes (meaty and delish) but if you did not consider the chowder as you get seated, that sample may change your mind. I will definitely stop by when I come back to the area and try other things!

5 /5 Cindy Dutton: The clam chowder was very good, it has just a slight " kick" that I liked. The lobster roll was smaller than expected but very tasty. My sister and her daughter shared the seafood platter which they enjoyed. Parking was a nightmare but we did arrive around noon on a Saturday. We parked several blocks away. Service was friendly. Chairs werent the most comfy but were adequate. Very pricey but it was a rare treat .
