Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum of Natural History - Gainesville Viktoriia Tryhub: The day we went was cold and they opened exhibition at 1 pm. While we were waiting we walked around and it was pretty cool. After we went to see butterflies. I have never seen some such a big butterflies and different colours
City of Gainesville Clock Tower - David A Nelson: Its been warm n quiet, sm. groups of college students passing out bags of gifts, its clean again after the storm n cold days, a few Church groups came throughout the day and SOCK Ministries due at 7 pm....come on down.
Escape Key - Room Escape Game - Gainesville Brenda Peacock: My first time doing such an event + wasnt sure what to expect. Would definitely do it again. You get into faster then you think. Thank you Taryn for being our hostess. It was a good family activity...6 of us ages 5 to 64!
St. Marys Shoals - Glen St Mary Anthony Perrone: Where the sugar-white sands of North Florida’s beaches meet the sweet tea–stained waters of sloooowww-moving creeks and lazy rivers that meander like they’ve got all the time in the world. It’s a place where flip-flops are formal wear, the fish bite slow, and the sunsets come with a side of hushpuppies. No, it ain’t Muscle Shoals—don’t expect chart-topping legends—but it’s still got soul, the kind that hums from a screened-in porch and echoes from the local dive where the band Cypress Fire Revival plays every Friday night. Their biggest hit? “Driftin’ with Gators.” Never made the charts, but it’s a classic round here.
Heritage Park Village - Macclenny William Penterman: A historical gem not far from the interstate! Well-preserved buildings and artifacts help tell the story of what life was like decades ago. The veterans memorial is also an outstanding testament to those who have helped preserve freedom! A beautiful place to visit!
Lake Fretwell - Jacksonville ROBB: Its abundant overgrowth on vegetation prevents any chance of kayaking or fishing ... The Walk bridge was run down ... The park was clean and the workers present were helpful especially Eric ... The area out West Jacksonville is developing and they could add 3 Pickleball courts and get that park active again ...
Jennings State Forest - Middleburg Daniel Calcaterra: We hiked Dunns Farm trail and part of the blue one. Extremely well marked trails and very pleasant to hike. Did not feel like a typical "Florida" hike with its small water falls and baby hills. The cemetery was very cool. Highly recommended.
Oaks by the Bay Park - Panama City Greg Kimball: I recently visited the Oaks by the Bay Park at 2715 W 10th St, in Panama City, FL. Parking isnt real good but I parked close.enough to be manageable. The old oak tree was a beautiful site and well protected. The boardwalk takes you on a nice path to the beach area. There are plenty of seats to rest on. The park is very well kept and a nice place to go visit.
St. Andrews State Park - Panama City Iris: Its been 4 years since weve been here and since the storms and hurricane damage theyve been doing a lot of remodeling and a lot of upgrades which theyre still in the middle of. Theyve added a bike and walking trail and have made a number of the roads one way. They still dont have all their signage up, which is a little confusing if youre walking. The beach is still lovely and crowded but its a great place for small children or just wanting to float or for snorkeling especially when theres double red flags on the regular Beach. We missed seeing the raccoons hang out on and around the jetty. I hope they were moved to a safer, more appropriate place. We saw a large alligator in alligator Lake along with all the beautiful white egrets that were nesting just passed the overlook for the lake. It looks like someone left large wads of white feathers everywhere. Its crazy. There may be hundreds of nests! If you have binoculars you can see a lot. Theres also beautiful large sand dunes which are a treat to see.
Coconut Creek Family Fun Park - Panama City Beach Karthi Gopalaswamy: Great Fun for Kids!!! We had an amazing time at this Fun Park! The kids absolutely loved the animal-themed mini golf—each course was creative and fun, keeping them engaged the whole time. After finishing the mini golf, they headed straight to the maze, which was another highlight of the trip. They never felt bored during the three hours we spent there—it was pure fun from start to finish! Highly recommend for families looking for an entertaining and engaging outdoor experience.
