1 /5 Jon-michael Campbell: Delgado the owner has known my family personally for over 18 years and I have been taking my car to him on and off since I first got my car at 16, I am now 30. On many occasions I get my vehicle back and there’s another issue right behind it or him taking advantage of me, a loyal customer. The most recent example of this is when I had him replace all 4 rotors and brakes on my f150. Firstly let me say I supplied the parts and understand that there is no warranty on customer supplied parts, as a business owner myself in the trades I notify customers all the time that customer supplied parts or materials aren’t warrantied however that quality service and proper installation is guaranteed. I digress, The pictures supplied you see on the replacement brake pads that says “inner” there are ears that fits into the caliper on the back side of the rotor. Affordable auto installed the outer pad on the inner side of the rotor and the inner pad on the outer side as you see from the photo Firestone supplied that the ears are worn down from grinding the top side of my rotor. As I said him and I have history dealing with each other, so I recorded the Firestone service writer explaining exactly what happened and what he’d done incorrectly and sent it to him so that there’s no confusion as he’s the type of person to deflect blame, he charged me $400 on labor when I quoted the job and said that it was two hours worth of work keep in mind when you go in his office his labor rate is printed at around 150 an hour. Do the math on that and you’ll see the type of person he is. I contacted him this evening in hopes that he’d own up to his mistake and make right what he’d done wrong, but sure as shit he blames me for “purchasing the wrong aftermarket part” as if the automotive store doesn’t have a make and model fit check prior to making the purchase, he then proceeded to say “installing brakes isn’t brain surgery and that my f150 isn’t anything special” questioning my intelligence and understanding of the situation but apparently it is if he isn’t able to do such a simple thing when it’s CLEARLY marked where it needs to go, he then proceeded to say that “the person who I take my truck to to fix it I hope I purchase parts from them so that it’s warrantied if anything happens”, almost to say that because I didn’t purchase the parts from him that his mistake is my misfortune. He Continues to say that “the install was in January and that if it was something he did incorrectly that it would have shown up the next day not 6 months later”, well sir brake pads are a degenerative part, meaning it’s designed to breakdown over time, however brakes and rotors don’t go bad in under 6 months as they’re to last 50-70k miles so it took a while for the pad to wear down from an improper install until the metal from the ears started grinding into the rotor and there’s no way I drove that many miles in under 6 months. Don’t worry though he made sure to correct me like the ignorant idiot he is to tell me “ its 35k miles” and that I was wrong. The cherry on top is that when the work was initially done is January after he backed the truck out of the bay I saw a noticeable wobble in the front tires and when I questioned him he says it’s because I needed new tires and I had a bubble that made the truck shake, went on to say I needed new tires within the week, I can only assume he’d hoped I bought them from him only to find out when I took the truck to a tire shop directly after that he’d left the lugs loose! This man is dishonest and should not be in business if this is how he treats his customers. He takes no accountability or liability for his mistakes and instead of owning up to it or apologizing he chooses to gaslight you. I took the truck to him yesterday as he was the last person to work in them and before even looking he says it’s the caliper! If we could’ve come to some compromise I would’ve accepted buying another rotor and brakes if he’d have covered the labor but You sir are a small man and will always be, true to your nature I hope karma finds you Swiftly.
