3 /5 J. B.: The staff and the manager are nice and I appreciate that they use a fresh pack of tools each time. I had Tammy, who was very kind and thoughtful. However, I have some distress due to over cutting the skin on my finders (leading to bleeding). Also, after I was cut, I asked for alcohol to spray it. Instead, Tammy took out some random tube of green stuff and pressed the applicator head (which has touched other open cuts on other people) directly onto my cut. That is not good infection control. Moreover, because I was freaking out about this, I asked again to spray the cut with rubbing alcohol. She said she would do it at the end for all my fingers. I had to insist that she do it at that moment for the bleeding finger. At other salons, if they ever cut me, they’ve always immediately sprayed me. I would possibly go back again but perhaps not with Tammy. I would suggest that management retrain her on infection control.

1 /5 Bee Russie: This nail salon is the greediest salon I’ve ever been to. I paid $136.16 total for my service which included the tip. After paying, I noticed an $8 discrepancy. When I brought it to their attention they would not refund me. The price they have advertised on their website and what you actually pay are not the same. They have a section for combination services so I booked for the gel x full set and pedicure for $90 because I saw that I would save by doing it that way. On their website they are clear that the online price is the starting price and that your price can be more due to length, shape, and design which I didn’t have an issue with so I fully expected to pay more than the base price. However, the base price for that service is a lie. It didn’t start at $90 it started at $98. As you can see, for my receipt I was charged $38 for my pedicure and $60 for my full set. That makes $98 not $90. What I expected from them was $90 for the combo plus $5 for the “shape” plus $5 for the “length” plus 5 for the design but nope they would not honor it. I’m assuming I spoke with the manager or the owner because she’s who the front desk lady got. Whoever it was, she was soooo rude, unprofessional, and very defensive. She said they always show customers their pricing by showing them the brochure and that I upgraded on my pedicure which is a lie. I was clear about what I wanted. The girl who did my nails even admitted that she didn’t show me the brochure. The workers don’t even know much about the pricing because my nail tech and the receptionist said they don’t offer combinations because the system won’t allow it. If that’s the case then why advertise something you can’t honor on your website? I’m extremely disappointed and upset about this because how I was treated was unprofessional. Please take your money elsewhere to establishments that honor their prices and treat their customers with respect and actually appreciate their business.

1 /5 Shawnese Kimbrough: The ambiance here isn’t positive. Although Peter was really professional and did amazing with my daughter nails, my experience was not the best. The lack of communication, the pressure upon what they feel you should receive $$ vs what you want. I soaked off a set, and inquired about a full set. To soak off my nails $17… in which, I was told it would have been cheaper if I added on a service… When inquiring about a gel full set, I was told if I keep square no additional charge, yet if I wanted oval shape additional $5… i declined anything further. I personally do not like to be price gauged.

1 /5 Kaitlin Reiman: Please do not let the looks deceive you. If I could give a rating of less than 1, I would. I came in as a first time costumer last Friday wanting a fall chrome (EASY enough). I showed the tech a couple pictures and informed BOTH techs that I just wanted a simple fall chrome and it didn’t have to match the picture exactly. I’ll share the inspo picture for giggles. The first chrome came out green, the second yellow, and the third silver. I gave up the chrome since the techs clearly did not know what they were doing and no one was helping. During my manicure one of the other techs next to me was in a personal phone argument that I had to endure instead of taking the call privately. So much for an enjoyable hour away from the kids… The finger the tech tried the chrome on was clearly messed up, she did not fix it. I let her know that the gel on the rest of the fingers was not setting and it was still mushy, still didn’t fix it. I left 45 minutes later unsatisfied, disappointed in their customer service, and appalled in the lack of professionalism. That night the finger that was already messed up ended up mushing off. As you can see in the picture the gel under the part that peeled off is still wet. I called this morning to have this issue rectified and spoke with “Lim”. No apologies, no sincerity, just rude. If I would have had the time to argue, I would have asked for a refund and to take it all off. I will not be back to this establishment and I will be sharing with my network to avoid it as well.

5 /5 M Santiago: First off, let me say that Ava is my place and my go to! They always make sure that clients are always happy and satisfied. Techs are always on their A game, going above and beyond. Ive never had an issue, if there ever was, they always communicated and made sure that it was resolved. I was there at Ava today when I had witnessed a client cause a scene and disrespect the staff. I felt so terrible to see how the staff was disrespected and spoken to. The client threatened to leave a one star review (which she did) and "shut the place down" I was waiting to see if she did so I can explain was really happened because what "Bee Russie" had put in her review was false. She came in wanting to do one of the services that was listed under the combination services that showed the price "starting from $90" which included an express pedicure. She then decided for herself to upgrade to a classic pedicure. Which was a $8 difference. After she pays, she then complains about no honoring the website pricing. Not only was she disrespectful but she was also delusional. How to you expect to get a classic pedicure and pay for an express. It doesnt work that way. Then the audacity to threaten and talk down to the staff who was trying to explain it to her. And once when the staff showed her in the booking that says additional costs for length, shape, design, gel polish, AND PEDICURE UPGRADE!, she got mad and went off talking about how she got money, shell shut the place down, give them a 1 star review. Finally walked off saying "youll see!" Clients like that makes it so hard for amazing businesses like this. Ava will always be my spot, they always do an amazing job, make sure youre satisfied. And the staff is always a blast to be around. Thank you Ava!
