5 /5 Wind Tree Studios: Very cool bridge! Its hard to believe something over 200 years old could still be standing in an active flood plane of a river. It takes about 15 minutes to hike to the bridge from the parking area. Theres a small picnic pavilion here as well.

4 /5 alison wonderland: Its an easy hike down a mostly shaded pathway to the remains of the Bellamy Bridge. We didnt encounter any spectral beings, but we saw plenty of birds and bugs and flowers. There are several benches along the path. One of the two footbridges along the path was a bit out of commission, but the creek was dry enough that we just went around. Plenty of parking. Bring bug repellent & water. No bathrooms or fountains.

2 /5 parker benz: There are two small wooden bridges you have to cross before you get to the Bellamy bridge. Both are not safe to cross right now. The first bridge you come across was lifted (im assuming during high river levels) and cracked halfway down it, I would not suggest crossing it. The second bridge is even more dangerous, and looks to have been that way for even longer (see pictures). The trail was recently mowed but is in a state of disrepair. Tread cautiously.

3 /5 Cynthia Paulson: We went in search of the Bellamy Bridge today, 10/6/24. Tread lightly and watch for snakes and wild hogs along this damp trail through the palmetto swamps. The large trail bridge was cracked and uneven, but passible. The second was partially under water and we had to turn back. We were trying to visit sites along the Spanish Trail through Jackson County and encountered two disappointments today. Sure wish the county had more resources to maintain the sites. Could be a tourism jewel for the county. Such a shame!
