4 /5 J. Ray: Cool old place. A bit in disparity with vandalism. I mean, if you’re gonna paint graffiti- at least make it nice graffiti. Neat history here and worth checking out.

4 /5 Joseph Y: The old water works building is currently boarded up and awaiting repairs, so there are no restrooms here. There are some picnic tables and a nice pavilion though. The water fountain does not work, so no drinking water either. There are port-a-potties at the trailhead though.

5 /5 Orkidia Cruz: This park is amazing, especially the bike trail, because it is challenging and fun. I enjoyed the waterfall trail as well. I felt the burning with all the inclines. Other than that, the park is peaceful, and theres a couple of benches to sit. The toilet was missing in the restroom, so youll have to find a restroom before.

5 /5 Simply Starry: This is the trailhead of Gainesville Hawthorne bike trail. I come here so much when I do my missionary work. The trail is about 20 miles out and back I like going to the left away from Gainesville its very scenic very peaceful very quiet. Its a great place also to walk the dog. Theyre different spots along the way that could be accessed I go to Rochelle Trailhead which is also down aways from the bike trail. Definitely a great spot

4 /5 Sharon Sperling: We went there for the first time in several years to take a bike ride. The paved trail is still great and the prairie is still beautiful, but the pump house is boarded up and it looks like all the windows have been broken. I dont know if the windows can be replaced with something that vandals cant destroy, but I hope the building can be repaired and reopened.

Mike B: Amazing zoo with great staff! Its a very clean zoo and its lay out to see all animals is great! Monkeys, birds, boars, snakes, turtles, Nyala, and so much more! There was a massive peacock walking around the paths, beautiful animal. I suggest! 10 dollars per adult and and 6 bucks with seniors and small children.

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park - Micanopy

Nicole B: This is a great park if you want to get some hiking in while keeping an eye out for wildlife! We spent 5-6 hours through out the park at several different entrances/locations. We hiked multiple trails including the la chua (alligators), bolen bluff (bison), observation tower (bison), and half of cones dike trail. We also stopped at the eco passage observation boardwalk and saw 12+ wild horses using our binoculars. Make sure to take a paid of binoculars as you will want them for a better chance of seeing wildlife if they dont happen to be up close.

Sweetwater Preserve - Gainesville

Robert Law: Nice little suburban trails along a creek and up and down a hill. You could almost think youre out in the country. The trails are numbered, but the map is on the back of the notice board so we just meandered around the preserve for a while. I found the map on the way out.

Squirrel Ridge Park - Gainesville

Raegan Simpson: It was a great park to play kickball. I didnt use the playground, yet there was one. I dont recall using the restrooms. Spent a couple hours with 50 of my closest friends having a kickball tourney and eating lunch. Several benches to sit at and ample parking.
