  • Ballard Park - Melbourne Michael Cornwell: I go here quite a bit for work. Every time I have been, the place is clean. It has wide boat ramps and easy access for us. We have launched a 44 ft catamaran boat there with no issues. If I lived closer, I would use it for launching my boat. Having a restroom on site is also a nice thing to have before and after leaving.
Paradise Beach - Melbourne Whitney: Paradise Beach is truly a hidden gem! I recently had an incredible experience there while doing a photo shoot with my daughter, and I cant say enough good things about it. The beach is stunning, featuring soft, pristine white sand that feels like walking on cotton. The beauty of the turquoise waters creates the perfect backdrop for photos, making every shot a masterpiece. One of the highlights of our visit was how peaceful and uncrowded the beach was. It felt like our own little paradise, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our time without the hustle and bustle often found at more popular spots. This tranquility made it an ideal setting for capturing special moments with my daughter. The cleanliness of the beach also stood out to me. It was well-maintained, which not only contributes to the overall beauty but also made it feel inviting and safe for a family outing. The combination of the stunning scenery and serene environment made our photo shoot an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Paradise Beach to anyone looking for a picturesque location, whether for a photo shoot or just a day of relaxation. It’s a perfect spot to create lasting memories and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Melbourne Beach Pier - Ocean Rain: This pier is located in a vary beautiful and peaceful area with historical homes near by and a really nice steak house right in the same parking lot. Gorgeous views. Such a quiet and lovely area.
Castaways Point Park - Palm Bay P Oneliv: Easily accessible from the Main Road RT 1 N/B, ample Free Parking including for Handicap accessible Vehicles. There is no entry fee. Restrooms were available and clean. There are multiple walkways, including those away from the mainland which allow for fishing. There is also a beach area but it didnt appear that swimming was allowed. A covered area behind the Bathrooms is great for picnicking. All and all a nice park to fish or just hang out.
Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge - Melbourne Beach Chayil Heather Kay Lancaster: There is great confusion with Google maps regarding this area. If you want to go to where the pictures show, Head to Barrier Island Sanctuary. Archie Carr National refuge is a long plot of land that consists of homes, stores, nature and beaches. The Google map connected to this will only place you in a nearby geographical location to which you can not access it from where they place you. Again, Google this location, they will guide you and there be able to see what is advertised: Barrier Island Sanctuary
Riverview Park - Melbourne Bill “Hashi”: Park was small and quaint. We purchased some sugar free products. Was there for about 2 hrs. We had lunch, was very good. All in all a nice day by the river in a very peaceful park.
Coconut Point Sanctuary - Melbourne Beach Dez Lezotte: Lovely spot for a quick (1 mile) hike with boardwalks. Entrance is free. The middle 1/3 of the hike is a shaded maritime hammock among tropical plants. We went in March, and there was no water under the boardwalks.
Ryckman Park - Melbourne Beach A R: Original review update on 6/15/24: Since my first review down below, they have changed it to where you have to pay to park. The fee to park is $2.50 for an hour and a half. The signs state “Thank you! Your parking fees help maintain our parks” which is obviously understandable but what I don’t understand is why they would lock the restrooms at 6pm and not notify the public of this prior to paying the parking fee? If my parking fee helps maintain the park (which the restrooms are a part of) then why would I not be able to use the restrooms during the time that I paid for the use of the park? Makes zero sense. Very inconvenient if you have young kiddos who have to go potty during their playtime while at the playground. Original review: This is one of our favorite parks/playgrounds to visit in the Melbourne, FL area. The views are absolutely gorgeous, especially when you get to catch a gorgeous sunset off the pier. It has three different playgrounds for the little ones, so plenty of choices regardless of what age group your kiddos fall into. It has a basketball court, restrooms and of course the gorgeous pier too!
Samsons Island Nature Park - Satellite Beach Liz DeHaan: Samson Island Nature Park is a nature preserve located in the Indian River Lagoon. Beautiful mangroves line the waterways, providing a stunning backdrop for kayaking in the Lagoon. This preserve is accessible by boat, canoe, or kayak. The park has miles of hiking trails to explore and observe Florida’s biodiversity. Primitive camping is available with permit, island has designated sites with very basic amenities; picnic tables, pedestal grills, and fire rings. Visitors can expect to see an abundance of bird life, few manatees, and other native wildlife. Yes, that includes bugs, bring your preferred bug repellent.
Swamp Donkey Airboat Rides - Melbourne Julia Pemrick: Had a great time! It was a bit cold and overcast today but we still saw many alligators and other wild life. Charley is a great guide.
