5 /5 BEE KOOL: Very cool lighthouse and with fabulous views. It is taller than it looks. I would not recommend purchasing tickets at the visitor center if you have any phobias of tight spaces or heights. There is also a height restriction for children who are under about 4ft due to safety reasons. The stairs are narrow and quite steep and it is a trek to climb up but the view is spectacular. The grounds lead out to the shore. There are picnic areas. Great place to walk to from downtown.

5 /5 Courtney Huffman: We were on vacation and it was too chilly to spend the day on the beach, so we went exploring. At $5 a person its worth the experience, even if its just a few minutes to take a few pictures. Not a bad climb up to the top, but it is very narrow. It was rather windy the day we visited, but the view was spectacular!

5 /5 jeremy storteboom: We arrived at 11:00am and were the first customers of the day. After paying the $5.00 per person and chatting with the friendly woman in the gift shop, she handed me the key and told me I could unlock the padlock myself! I love the small town trust and easy going attitude about it. We ascended the first set of steps outside and after unlocking the door to the main stairs, began climbing up the interior spiral steps. I’m not a fan of heights or cramped spaces and this was both. Although not bad at all! There were two windows on the way up and numbers on the wall to tell you how many steps you had climbed. Once at the top the wind was howling. We opened the two doors that led to the cat walk around the top. My kids went first and after some coaxing I stepped out into the wind. Hanging onto the railing, I walked all the way around the top. The views were great and the experience was well worth it. The height wasn’t bad and the staircase was actually really cool. If you’re even considering this, I’d say go for it! A great memory for my family!

Elvetta McDaniel: Every time I go kayaking or canoeing Down the River via the alapaha or the Suwannee River its the most tranquil unique experience there is. Its such a beautiful place to go with friends or by yourself. That day that we went we saw a big beautiful owl that just sat there and wasnt afraid of us at all. We saw some deer and some other Wildlife not to mention fish and some snakes. Anytime I need to have a little mini vacation all I do is get my husband to help me get my kayak into the alapaha and he picks me up further down the road and its just beyond words everybody has to experience that even once youll never forget it and youll never regret it.

Bat House - Live Oak

Wick Oliver: Just after sunset you can hear the bats getting restless and moving around inside the bat house. Within 10 minutes after sunset the thousands of bats exit from the underside of the house. and there are thousands of them. A very incredible sight.

Auxiliary P.O.: Very exciting to leave Florida and see the Georgia welcome sign but unfortunately we didnt have any plans in Georgia so we had to turn around and its very disappointed welcome in Florida experience was eventful the only drawback is there was nothing on the road

Gibson County Park -

Floridanatureman: Great place to stay next to the river, restrooms and shower need to be updated. Shower was pretty dirty and the pvc handles were hard to turn since they were broken. Toilet has to be flushed 3 times to get anything to go down. The sign on the wall behind the toilet explains this. Grounds are well kept, some road noise from the bridge. Shopping and dining is 15 minutes away no matter which direction you go. Boat ramp gets really busy on Friday and Saturday evening with people going onto the river, people were returning all thru the night to load their boats and go home. Gotta check out the frog picture from the mens room, pretty sure from his pose it was a boy frog.

holly nagel: A hidden gem! A little over 3 miles of great trails, once you find the trailhead. Beautiful wildlife and sights! Even a suspension bridge! Interesting local history lesson and artifacts in the visitor center! Definitely worth the $3 entry fee. Easy to access restrooms inside the visitor center.
