4 /5 Dear India Rose: A glimpse into what life was like for Floridians before people had home refrigeration and air conditioning. The ice house would sell blocks of ice to locals back in the 30s. The purchase was made through hand gestures, holding up fingers to suggest how much ice you wished to purchase. The hand signals are engraved into the stucco wall above the door. Unfortunately, there appears to be some deterioration to this building and it is fenced off with a chain link fence. Still worth a visit

5 /5 Elizabeth Hausler: Every time I pass this monument, I am reminded of my childhood summer trips to my grandmothers house. Passing by this building meant we were almost there after an 8+ hour car ride! Even now that I live here full time, I am still flooded with precious childhood nostalgia when I pass by. I hope they never tear this down, at least not in my lifetime.

Chris Hall: My family and I had the pleasure of visiting the Chappie James museum. It may be one of the best done and most educational museums I have been to. Despite its small size, the knowledge imparted by the guide was amazing and the hospitality displayed by the entire staff was second to none. I highly recommend visiting this museum if you live in or are visiting Pensacola.

Victoria Haynie: It is a replica so dont expect it to be huge. Parking is on the street and you walk up steps to get to the cannons. It was small but neat

Equally powerful is the Gold Star Families Memorial, a solemn space that honors the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Sunrise is an especially beautiful time to visit—quiet, reflective, and full of meaning as the light hits the memorials. A must-visit spot in Pensacola for anyone who wants to take a moment to appreciate the sacrifices made for our country.

Shenell Mack: Lovely boardwalk that gives you the opportunity to see a variety of ocean life. We didn’t see dolphins, but schools of fish, a barracuda, and a couple of sea turtles swam by this visit. It’s a nice thing to do to enjoy beautiful weather and sightseeing.

Pensacola Bay City Ferry - Pensacola

Renae Tindale: We were waiting for some family members to join us in Pensacola, so we took the ferry ride to kill some time. It was very nice and relaxing. We were able to see dolphins. At the beach stop, we saw several places that we wanted to visit. We will do the ride again and get off next time.

Falon Smith: Absolutely Beautiful except all the technological stuff surrounding historical monuments Thats the only reason I didnt give 5 stars. From electronic rental bikes to car meters that take debit cards and some take change but if you dont have change then youre kind of screwed. Not everyone keeps there card on them all the time. But the meter reader lady is very nice and her hospitality deserves five stars.

Hawkshaw Lagoon Memorial Park - Pensacola

H Cap: It’s a small and quiet place to watch the sunset. We stopped by quickly to take pictures. We used it as our starting point on our walk to Palafox Pier and back. Walking path on this side of the memorial goes all the way to the pier. The other side of the road doesn’t have it, just fyi.
