4 /5 JACOB EISENHAUER: I attended & wrote a review in 2022, but it has since disappeared.
Here is the review redux:
Initially, it was a little difficult finding the correct entrance for the Sunday service. Fortunately, we were able to identify a couple also attending & trailed behind them to the appropriate entryway.
As we entered the place of worship, we were instantly greeted by a young man who wore a genuine smile, which was both welcoming & reassuring to newcomers such as myself. We then seated ourselves near the back row. Prior to the start of the days service, the women nearest to us, one of whom introduced herself as an honorable teacher, extended greetings in a friendly manner as well. Im very thankful for the genuine hospitality.
Pastor Bill Franks delivery during service was both informative & comprehensible. We especially liked his Impressionable dandelion metaphor. His ability to convey his message with a nuanced touch of humor is clever, albeit sometimes cleverness can inadvertently alienate others. He mentioned deserts frequently & something about leading without followers, which came off particularly ambiguously. Nevertheless, the majority of his service was abundant in holy sacrament.
Coincidentally, our particular seat positioned us close to someone who kept provoking a fussy baby they were holding.
Thank you, Pastor & everyone who offered a welcoming gesture to someone new. It can be quite intimidating going to a new place of worship for the first time & even just a brief sincere acknowledgment goes a long way. God bless!
