Florida Caverns State Park - Marianna (FL)

5 /5 Hinton Jason: The caverns tour was a great overall experience! I will warn you ahead of time you will have to stoop and duck while going through these caverns. There are a couple of areas you pass through on the tour that are around 4 to the ceiling. There were 2 bats that were sleeping also. The tour guide was quick to point them out. The only area flash photography is not allowed is in areas where there are bats. The caverns are beautiful and well lit. The guide was very knowledgeable about the caverns also. I would not recommend these caverns to anyone who can not bent or stoop and walk at the same time. All in all it was a beautiful cavern and a great adventure!

5 /5 Karen Wester: We loved it! Cavern tour times are available online as well as reservations. In person is also available in the park. We booked overnight camping and enjoyed our spot. The accommodations are large, updated and clean. We did get annoyed by flying insects while outside. I think a bug screen or bug spray would go a long way. We liked swimming at Blue hole for the day too. About 68 degrees and felt great after a hot summer day.

5 /5 derrell winowich: We had a great time visiting for 5 days. The caverns were fun and the campground was clean. Site 25 is super tight backing in and several of the others are as well. But, Ray, the volunteer camp host, Jack (aka Bob) cavern tour guide and the park staff were amazing. The early evening bat show was new, but also fun. Overall a great experience over the 5 days.

5 /5 Tori Bacon: We visited around 2pm on a Sunday in mid June. It was busy but not uncomfortably crowded. We had a good size group that we did the tour with. It costs $10 for each of us to do the tour. Our tour guide Tripp was really funny and helpful. The museum upstairs was very informative. It is pretty hilly and some parts of the cavern tour would be hard on people who cant get around very well. Steep stairs and sections where you have to be bent over to move thru sections of the caverns.

5 /5 Rick Marrier: We made a visit to Florida State Caverns State Park. What an amazing place! We took the guided tour, about an hour long. Our tour guide, Jen, was amazing. The caverns go 65 feet underground. What is amazing is that these caverns were dug by hand, no explosives, by the newly created Civilian Conservation Corps between 1938-1942. It must have been an incredible undertaking. The formations are breathtaking. An added bonus was the fact that it was over 90⁰ outside when we visited, but the temperature is 65⁰ in the caverns. Definitely a must see if you are in the area.
