5 /5 Michelle Long: Ive been to different churches in the area but this has become my home church. The pastor (Oliver Jenkins) is very humble, down to earth and friendly. He has no problem taking time to explain things if you have questions, and is easy to talk with. He and his wife (Connie) truly care for people and make themselves available to the congregation and visitors. There is no sugar coating, all sermons are backed by scripture. He doesnt just tell you what you want to hear. He tries to feed your soul. "For man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that procedeth from the mouth of God." When I walked through the doors of Gethsemane for the first time, I was in shorts, tank top, and flip flops. I was treated so kind and wasnt judged or shunned. If I hadnt gone in that day, I know I wouldnt be here now. It truly was a life saving decision. To me Gethsemane is more then just a building, its the House of God, a safe haven, a place of peace from the harshness of the world outside, a source of strength, within the walls of this little church, I found friendship, encouragement, guidance, hope, and love. It isnt just a church, its so much more. Its where I am called to be. God knew exactly what I needed that day and I found it here. When my heart and spirit feel tired and low, I find restoration and I am refilled again and again. I have been at Gethsemane almost 3 years. If you are looking for a home church, please visit this one. It was the best decision I made. Bible backed, Holy Spirit filled, warm, small town church with youth programs and room to grow. All are welcome.
