Gail Guerrieri: Overall, this is one of the best churches I’ve been too in a long time. Recently, after attending Bible school, and some other events, including so-called Christians hurting me deeply and viciously in a way that I couldn’t even believe; I was turned off from organized religion and most churches altogether. But I met someone immediately after relocating to Lakeland who attended HOTFM, and challenged me to give it a try, describing HOTFM church as “the least religious church in Lakeland”, which sounded appealing at the time, so I attended. I was pleasantly surprised. Several of the members welcomed me openly, some even embracing me. They were just starting a class on emotional healing and deliverance at the time and that impressed me, to see ‘church people’ who are actually aware that there is desperately needed emotional healing, deliverance and support in the church. Yes we have Jesus, but often times most people need some form of help or healing, even at least emotional healing, whether recent or pain and trauma of the past. As Christians we need to be aware of what we need as a church and a body, and what we need mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. There’s is so much more church. We are not a building, we are the body of Christ and we need help, and mostly we need each other. There’s is so much more, and we need to draw closer to Jesus and to one another. “They will know you by your love (for one another)”. Jesus
