Sawgrass Lake Park - St. Petersburg Jessica Patton: Beautiful housing area before getting to the park. Love the wooden nature trails that are shielded by the trees. We got to see a baby alligator among other things. The wind was blowing. I loved getting my steps in while being outside enjoying nature. The bathrooms and trails are well kept.
South Straub Park - St. Petersburg Toni Thompson: This spot of greenery provides a park buffer between the waterfront harbor and the busy St Pete street with upscale eateries and stores. A few benches offer some seating with one bench by the fountain. A great respite in the city.
Chihuly Collection - St. Petersburg Shae Conrad: Ive not ever been a huge glass person, as far as art goes. But this place was really, really cool! I was visiting from out of town and came across it. What a fun surprise. A lot to see and really interesting pieces. Bright colors. Great presentation. Wonderful lighting. They also have a place you can go watch a live glass blowing class. Only $20 bucks. Worth stopping to check out!
Rise St. Pete - St. Petersburg
Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center - St. Petersburg Haven: A well preserved area .. visited the quaint (free entrance) museum with interesting exhibits. Very educational informative.. great place to visit.
Thrill Hill - St. Petersburg Will Pryor: Well this is interesting. Theres no about info on this place and only a handful of reviews. If youre a Google guide or affiliated with the hill please tell more about this place.
Boyd Hill Nature Preserve - St. Petersburg Jawana Watson Silvestri: This was a nice outing. They have great walking and biking trails and with the side trails you can easily do 5 miles. A gift shop, restrooms, kids playground, adequate parking, an aviary, water stations along the route, healthy snacks in the gift shop like strawberries, celery, peaches, and other cold snacks. They definitely need more magnets with the preserve on it as I collect magnets. We saw some wildlife, a baby alligator, raccoon, squirrels and an owl that was hooting at one of the caged owls. A worker there said that owl has been coming for a few seasons to probably "mate" and "talk" to one of the other owls. A pretty neat and safe place. Entrance fee is very reasonable.
Demens Landing Park - St. Petersburg Patrick Villacorta: 2024/01 The less-visited pier compared to St. Petes Pier. Less amenities, more peaceful, but with a lot of the same nice views of the bay and skyline.
Lassing Park - St. Petersburg Rachel Rae: This is a great little park. Free parking along the street. Lots of wildlife-jumping fish, birds, birds, birds I even saw a shark once!
Weedon Island Preserve - St. Petersburg Cesar Martinez: I had a great time visiting this park. The entrance is free, which is a huge plus, and the overall experience was just great. It was a beautiful day, and I really enjoyed walking around and taking in the sights. The restrooms were clean, which is always a relief when youre out and about. The only hiccup was finding parking; it was a bit tough to secure a spot since we arrived around noon. But overall, I highly recommend checking this place out!
