5 /5 Collin Joyce: I found this church through an invitation from one of its members. Having been turned off by a churchs miss use of money (a church music coordinator made approximately $65,000/year all from tithes), I had not been to a Sunday service in many years and decided to give it a try. When I arrived, I was not two steps in the door when I was warmly greeted by the Pastor and his wife. They offered me coffee and snacks and explained how the service works. I decided to attend the childrens session that was held in English, and then the adult bi-lingual sermon.
During the childrens session, the Pastor gave a brilliant talk about different things we see in nature that support the Bible. His knowledge of the Bible is impressive. During the adult sermon, a guest speaker gave a passionate talk about how important it is to keep your faith in God fresh and the dangers of getting stuck in a routine.
Two things that the Pastor said that have stuck in my mind are: "Religion is man made." Meaning it is faith, not religion, that is the strength of a relationship. And "God is not poor" and he refused to accept my offering. This positively registered with me because of my past experience. When the Pastor found out that I didnt have a Bible, he gave me one as a gift.
My experience concluded with fun conversation and a Sunday brunch.
Bottom line: I would recommend this church to close friends and family. The language can be passionate and strong. The church is extremely kind friendly, many of the members are young children who are quiet and well behaved. The Pastor and his family take personal interest in their church and the well being of its members. I plan to go again.
