Imagine Museum: Contemporary glass art - St. Petersburg (FL)

5 /5 Taylor Tedesco: I had a wonderful time exploring the Imagine Museum! The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the audio tour was interesting, and I had fun searching for the hidden marbles. It’s a great place to escape the heat and see some really cool art. One of my favorite exhibits was by Steve Tobin, who at one point detonated blocks of clay with explosives. The pieces are so beautiful, and the story behind how they were created brings them to another level. I don’t know why I waited so long to visit - it’s a must-do!

5 /5 Brenden: Perfect date idea, I am pretty sure they have a warehouse that stores either 1/3 or 2/3 of the entire gallery and they constantly rotate the displays so every time I’ve went (6 times) there are always new pieces which makes every visit unique. Highly recommend getting some souvenirs for $6.50, the little mini glass sculptures make great gifts/decorations. Staff is always very friendly, and the place is surprisingly not that busy. Love this place. $10 per person is a STEAL for this amazing museum.

5 /5 Angelika: This glass museum completely blew us away! It’s a place to look at beautiful art. My kids, ages 9 and 17, were absolutely captivated from start to finish. It’s rare to find something that entertains and amazes such a wide age range, but this place nailed it! There was so much to see and explore—we honestly didn’t expect it to be so extensive. Every room had something new and exciting, and the attention to detail in the exhibits was incredible. You could tell a lot of thought and creativity went into designing the experience. This was so much more than I expected. If you’re anywhere nearby, it’s 100% worth the visit. Don’t miss it!

5 /5 Hannah Everett: I enjoyed my visit to this museum significantly more than I thought I would (this coming from someone who would not self- describe as being very artistically minded or invested in contemporary art museums). Glass art takes art to a whole new level. This entire museum (which is quite vast in its exhibits) is basically eye candy for your brain for 2+ hours. I could not get enough! In fact, I went through the whole museum TWICE during my stay to try to catch things I had missed the first time through. The gift shop had selection to meet any budget and the staff were friendly and offered a lot of good information. The marble scavenger hunt was an added plus! Admission prices are also exceptionally reasonable for a museum in the St. Pete area. I only have a few points of feedback to offer the museum and none of it is enough to warrant giving less than a 5 star review. (1) Update your website: the website is not up to date and the ability to sign up for the newsletter doesn’t work. (2) Offer more places to sit down in the exhibits: after exploring the museum for nearly 3 hours, my dogs were barking and I desperately wanted to stay longer but had no where to sit down and rest my legs in some of the exhibits I enjoyed most; (3) Sell snacks: I noticed you have such a nice little lobby area with (what appears to be) a bar and coffee machine. Maybe you don’t operate this on Sundays, but I would have loved to purchase a soda and light snack after my walk through the exhibits; and (4) Tell your staff to keep the gift shop inventory fully stocked: I wanted to purchase a glass shark magnet but saw that the customer in front of me bought the last one. I asked the staff if they had more in back stock and they said yes. They also said they had a bunch of other animal magnets in back stock that were not on display and this “ruffled my feathers”. I might have wanted to buy more magnets if more options had been available to me. When I told the staff they should consider putting more out, they shrugged me off. The items available in the gift-shop are stunning works of art and I would hope the staff would want all of their vast variety displayed for purchase.

5 /5 Richard Smith: Absolutely Amazing. Would give it more stars if that were an option. Worth three timed the cost of admission. We got tickets on Groupon... gift shop is amazing as well. The lady who starts your adventure is hilarious. REMEMBER if you break it - you buy it... and some of the pieces are in the $10s of thousands range... MAKE a plan to attend. We are thrilled we did... parking right out in front of museum...
