4 /5 Gissella Lightsey: It is no doubt a great attraction to do in Fort Lauderdale and come on Its free. I will say it’s amazing if I could have had the 2 hours round trip I read about . Unfortunately I went on a Saturday and I got the ending of the stops by the Olas Boulevard Stop. Boat Lady was not in her best mood (all I can say because I don’t like to bad mouth people) … but I will try another day of the week to see if I get a better experience. Any way… grateful for the city of Fort Lauderdale that offers this service for free !! Amazing … After doing this boat ride .. you can enjoy a walk around .. for example I had a walk around Las Olas Boulevard … great … great time, great stores, great restaurants !!

1 /5 cabbage cc: This was a terrible experience from start to finish. The entire operation is a mess—completely disorganized and unreliable. The captain was not only rude but also made everyone feel unwelcome. Even if this service were free, I would strongly advise against using it. To make matters worse, the water trolley never arrived on time, despite what the app promised. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this service at all costs.

4 /5 Sam Arittan: Pleasant, free ride at 8 stops along the New River. Pros: free, relaxing views, captain gives you a mini tour of the sites, clean, well kept boat. Cons: theres not a reliable schedule so you may be waiting for a long time (the tracking app did not accurately show where the trolley was); its a very small boat so you may be skipped if the boat is full; quantity of childrens life preservers determines how many children are allowed on; not handicapped accessible; no pier nor gangplank so you must be very careful getting on and off. I saw one person trip and fall as they got off the boat. Boat is not tied to a piling, it is just bumped up against the seawall.

Lewis Landing Park - Fort Lauderdale

Ariel W.: Lewis Landing Park in Ft. Lauderdale has quite an amazing history. Archaeological items relating to the Tequesta including animal bones, pottery shards,and shells were found in the park in 2010 indicating a village was here from 800 to 1200 A.D.. The Tequesta were Native Americans who lived along the New River for at least 5,000 years. They used dugout canoes to travel the river from the Everglades to the Atlantic Ocean. When Spain claimed Florida there were thousands of Tequesta but by the time they gave Florida to England in 1763 there were less than 300 left having been wiped out by disease and sold as slaves to Cuba. The park is named for the Lewis family who came from the Bahamas in 1792 and settled on the banks of the New River. They lived on a farm growing coconuts, guava, limes and oranges until 1824. It was believed that their farm served as a way station for the British who were trying to subvert Spanish control. In 1830, Frankee Lewis now a widow sold the land for $400. Ten years ago the park was a vacant residential property. It has now been turned into a river front park with gazebos, a jogging path, a fishing dock, an observation deck, park benches, picnic tables, and a water fountain. The only drawback to the park is that parking is extremely limited with one car parking spot and one handicapped. On January 24, 2015 a statue of a Tequesta Indian sculpted by artist Nida Comas was added to the park. Plaques on the pedestal of the statue provide information about the Tequesta people who are now extinct. This beautiful park is the perfect place to exercise, enjoy a picnic or just take in the beautiful water view. It is also a wonderful place to sit and contemplate the people who came before us who once canoed down the waterways.

Alberto Zamorano: A very trendy place with a superb service. The food quality and the service being provided by Ricky was outstanding. The margaritas were exceptional being a colossal 42 oz servings where you buy one and get another one for free (The second Margarita was as carry out, not looking to take chances on the road). The place has quite a vibe playing great music ((I felt like we’re in Ibiza), with a great bar and a dance floor stage right in front of the beach. Love this place!!

Moses Duran: Nice park at the end of the Hollywood strip. Within walking distance of shops & restaurants. The park has a nice layout with ample space. Enough room to sit with a lawn chair or blanket. Also provides enough floor space to stand by the railing. The show was provided by the city/tax payers dollars. In my opinion that’s a good use of taxpayers money. Brings the community together providing music & joy. Wish it was a weekly thing.
