  • Manatee Center - Fort Pierce Stacy Ghoens: Small center to help preserve the manatees. $3 entree fee, a few exhibits, inlet access beside and attached to it with a 2nd story viewing tower. Small aquariums with live fish and plants. Entry free gift shop also. Great prices on tourist coffee mugs and many other items.
The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum - Fort Pierce Haven: A lovely visit to this museum right next to the beach by the way a huge plus…. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ the outdoor exhibits are free to wander, able to enter the huge ship was a nice touch - I did enjoy taking pictures from the height of the ship, they had educational videos about war & the ship’s history. The outdoor was a nice walk & it had an obstacle course for the kids. The inside was $16/but they offered military discounts. All items have been donated and actually used somehow in someway so that was interesting. Well maintained but did spend more time outside than inside. A day out visit was worth it!!!
St. Lucie County Aquarium - Fort Pierce Kimberly Legates: Ive been here before, but most recent we caught the fish feeding show. 10/10 .... The person going through each tank and talking about the fish life was not only knowledgeable, but kept my whole crew engaged throughout the tour from 11 years old to 70 years old! Its a small aquarium with a small entrance fee that is well worth it! Definitely a great thing to do with kids!
Jetty Park - Fort Pierce Karen Chavez: Lovely park and beach. A lot of people but not at all overwhelming. Very clean, quiet, peaceful. Restaurants and shops across the street from the parking lot. Public bathrooms on-site, fishing, swings, picnic tables, etc. Small parking lot but people are in and out so it wasnt difficult getting a spot.
Old Fort Park - Fort Pierce Alicia Vega: Such an amazing historical place! You can feel the energy and if you listen the wind speaks. It’s not a very large place, there are no restrooms or play area. No hiking trails. Nice grounds for a picnic. The Indian River is across the street.
A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery - Fort Pierce A. Anter: Fantastic exhibition of Highwayman paintings. The twenty minute video gives a clear and concise explanation of the connections between artist A.E. "Bean" Backus and the Highwaymen painters. I did ask the staff to slightly dim the lighting in the large gallery because the glare of the lights interfered with the ability to fully appreciate the color blends . Whether you live in Florida or are just visiting, this exhibit will help anyone appreciate the artists who created lasting landscape paintings which depict the natural beauty of scenes that are being replaced by development. I will probably visit again before the exhibition ends.
Museum Pointe Park - Fort Pierce Philip: Very nice grounds and the museum was very interesting. It was a bit rainy in the morning but cleared up by 9 am. The Indian River Region,AACA were invited to bring our antique cars. We had 19 cars/ trucks. Original, hot rods, muscle cars, and even a race car!
Heathcote Botanical Gardens - Fort Pierce Wysheka Stinson: Enjoyed all the bonsais. The kids garden was adorable. Was pleasantly surprised to see Koa Fish. Would definitely recommend a visit. Kids will enjoy.
South Causeway Beach - Fort Pierce Carlos Thomas: Nice beach for families and couples. It was not too busy for a Saturday. I enjoyed the clean park with walking areas. There is also the sandy beach with calm waves. Definitely worth checking out!
Bear Point Sanctuary - Fort Pierce Joe Rubino: There are a number of short hikes along A1A on Hutchinson Island South. This is a great trail for biking and hiking. This trail features a hiking bridge, off the main trail that leads to a deck high in the air almost to the top of the tree canopy.
