Spirit Lake - Live Oak Ivy Moore: My favorite place on earth ❤️
Woods Ferry Conservation Area - Mick Shea: This is the first river camp on the Suwannee, 12 miles from the Hwy 41 boat ramp in White Springs, or 9 miles from Stephen Foster. The 5 sleeping shelters are exactly like their counterparts at the other camps, perfect for overnight paddling. The bathrooms are even nicer than at the other camps, its above flood plain and so is on a slab instead of moveable. The communal covered picnic table area is comfortable.
International Falconry Academy - Live Oak Alex Carbonell: Surprised my better half for our anniversary with an unbelievable falconry experience. The experience far exceeded all expectations. Kitty and Courtney are beyond professional and they gave us an experience that we will never forget. Please choose them and their operations and you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Kitty!!
Forest Capital Museum State Park - Perry Megan Coppage: Definitely old-school Florida tourism in the best way possible. The museum charges $2 based on the honor system. There are bathrooms, picnic pavilions, and a childrens playground. The museum was built in the late 60s/70s out of 300 types of wood. The Whiddon Cracker Cabin was built in 1864 and has an actual dogtrot! Some of the displays may be a little outdated, but its a cool piece of Florida History.
Veterans Memorial Park - Perry TopShelf: Such a beautiful place. We walked around & read All the statues & dedications to all the great heroes. A couple of large slabs had fallen (probably from the last hurricane) but amazingly did break, definitely Devine intervention. Yellow ribbon made out of metal is just beautiful.
Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park - Sanderson Randy Roberts: I enjoyed my time at the park. It was a bustle of activity because they were setting up for a reenactment this coming weekend but it didn’t take away from my experience. Best of all it was dog friendly. I captured some great photographs while hiking the grounds. If you happen to be traveling through the area, I recommend that you stop and visit the park.
Sun Splash Park - Daytona Beach Brandon Freeman: Lets just say this was a wild and untamed area. It may have been the time I visited (Saturday afternoon) but the place had trash overflowing and blowing across the beach. Parking was a nightmare and the audience was less than friendly, courteous or respectful. The beach itself is quite thin with having driving lanes and the hotel/Park walls backing up to the beach and also. During high tide there is very little space. Best to find a different beach if youTr looking for a little space and tranquility.
Boardwalk Main St. Pier - Daytona Beach Sponge Bob: First off, I would not call this walkway a boardwalk. Its really a walkway made with pavers, not a wooden boardwalk. The Main Street Pier is more of a boardwalk being constructed with wood. But with that said, the walkway is very nice. We visited on a weekday in January, 2024. It was fairly quiet and somewhat cool. With temperatures in the 70s to 80 degrees, it was nice. Although it got warm walking along the walkway with the early afternoon sun baking on us. The walkway is fairly wide which allows for folks to stroll at their own pace. There were multiple beach access points that were closed because of beach erosion. We didnt walk all that far since there was construction with cranes lifting items up onto building rooftops. With the trucks and such on the walkway, and little to see between the walkway pier end and there, we turned around. So we never got to see what might have been ahead from that point. We could have proceeded, but we made the choice to turn around. But looking at the aerial on Google Maps, we were close to the end anyway. There were obviously nice views of the beach and such. With rest rooms near the south end of the walkway and pier entrances at the adjoining park. Although it was quiet. So even the restrooms were somewhat clean at the time. But Im not sure how clean they may be when the crowds are there. We parked near the park at the Pier and south walkway end. With the restrooms and parking close by, it made it a nice visit. But again, Im not sure if it would be this nice when the crowds are there.
Worlds Most Famous Beach - Daytona Beach Jim Dees: Crowded with life enjoying people. Everyone having fun swim, sunbathing, people watching, and cruising on the beach. Some places have soft sand, 4x4 is advised.
Daytona Beach Main Street Pier - Daytona Beach Sharon Rosado: There’s different restaurants, stores and it’s a great place to go with family, friends or solo I went on a day they had like Rock festival and at night around 9:45 they did fireworks it was beautiful
