5 /5 Angela Bridges: We had such a lovely visit. I can see why this is voted one of the most peaceful places in America. Its free to enter they do have places to leave a donation if you are so inclined you can stay as long as you want until dusk. They have a lot of parking. I will definitely return next time we go back to St Augustine and be able to spend more time in this beautiful area.

4 /5 GRAMS: A beautiful somber place for a walk and reflection. It has a little museum, grave yard, chapel, restrooms, and peacocks.

5 /5 Lorraine Arlotta: I learned the first Catholic Mass was on these grounds. Colleen was very informative with history. Our Lady La Leche Catholic Church Mass for pilgrims was beautiful, reverent.

5 /5 Vols Go (BamBam): Beautiful Catholic centered (makes sense considering who founded St Augustine) space with quiet gardens. Free parking (if available). I am Protestant and greatly enjoyed this. The rosary garden should not be missed by adults. As this is a shrine, young children will probably get bored fast.

5 /5 El: While the NPS sites tell the facts about 1565, the rest of the story can be found here, in the testimony of the men who crossed the ocean to share the Gospel. While there were many flaws and failings, the spiritual aspect of the exploration of America should not be denied or forgotten.
