Amy Jones-Broker: Here’s a five-star review for Perico Preserve in Bradenton, FL, written in a natural and enthusiastic tone:
---
I can’t say enough good things about Perico Preserve in Bradenton! This place is an absolute gem for anyone who loves nature, peace, and a great walk. The 1.5-mile loop trail is perfect—easy enough for all ages but still feels like a little adventure with its winding paths, boardwalks, and stunning views of the bayou. The wildlife here is incredible; I’ve spotted white pelicans, herons, egrets, and even jumping mullet in the water—it’s like a front-row seat to nature’s show! The preserve is beautifully maintained, with thoughtful touches like swings along the trail and picnic tables near the parking lot. It’s clear a lot of love has gone into restoring this spot, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite places to unwind. No dogs or bikes allowed, which keeps it serene and focused on the birds and scenery. If you’re in Bradenton, do yourself a favor and visit Perico Preserve—you won’t be disappointed! Five stars all the way.

Jade T-W: Really really Great collection of African American history! Just in case you didnt know though its located within the library so you have to go to the second floor. Just so you dont get lost!
Davetta Ploughe: Doesnt seem like a true lighthouse not when weve seen real ones on the coast. This is more like a replica sitting on a tiny tiny pond. The coolest part was we seen a alligator about 8 ft long. Thank goodness it was free to look at cause you sure couldnt go in.
Joseph Flesche: This park has been renovated recently (based on the other reviews, within the past year). I was mainly there for the calisthenics park but noticed that the childrens park right next door was amazing. I highly recommend it!
Miss Priss: This is a great park to visit. Lots of parking space. We did a little fishing there. Theres a small dock with two benches for seating but no shade anywhere for fishing. My only complaint would be theres such a long walk to get to the ponds for fishing. If youre taking lots of equipment, bring a wagon.
Saska Madilka: Very lovely place.. and My dream came true here, to see manatees.. ❤️ few people stopped by and confirmed that captain from their boat cruises do formed that this is the place where you can most probably spot these lovely creatures in this area❤️
Brenda Barber: I love to ride my bike there. Speed bumps keep cars slow. Walking trails, drive to sit on the beach for great sunsets. I need to try kayaking. Rentals available. Its a preserve so be respectful to the environment. Free to enter.
Jennifer Eastburn: Lake Manatee State Park is a hidden gem! The park is on the smaller side, which actually makes it feel more peaceful and easy to explore. Everything was super clean and well-maintained. We really enjoyed the beach-style swimming area—it was perfect for a relaxing day by the water. There are plenty of picnic spots and the trails were clearly marked and nicely cleared. We’ll definitely be going back!
