5 /5 Christina McGuire: I recommend Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church and School to everyone who wants a safe, nurturing environment for their children. Our daughter had the best experience there and I credit Ms. Laura for being the most amazing VPK4 teacher that gave our daughter, Ava, a great 1st year of school which instilled a love of learning she still has at age 12. Ava is now proudly playing the drums for the Praise Service there on occasional Sundays taking turns with her father. We love our SOTC community and invite anyone to come and check it out. You will not be disappointed!

5 /5 David Harvin: Im biased, but I must say that Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church & School is a great place to set a strong spiritual and educational foundation for your child. Our teachers are highly qualified and genuinely love their students. Our curriculum has exceptional rigor and has a biblical worldview approach. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for bullying and we make sure that EVERY STUDENT feels safe and heard. Our entire Administrative Team is visible and approachable. Our 8th Grade Graduates are accepted by some of the most competitive high schools in Broward County e.g., Cardinal Gibbons, Westminster Academy, Archbishop McCarthy, Fort Lauderdale Highs Cambridge Program and Pine Crest School. 5 /5 Barb J: Shepherd of the Coast is a Church where you feel at home on your first visit. (I experienced this when I first visited 8 yrs ago.) The members genuinely enjoy each other and happily welcome visitors. Pastor Chad leads us with interesting and inspiring sermons each week and encourages us to share the peace and hope of Christ with everyone. Lutherans have a long tradition of standing up for their neighbors, and our congregation proudly carries on that tradition and supports each other and our community with many activities.

5 /5 Holly Wilhelm: As the kindergarten teacher at Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran School, I take our stated purpose to heart. Our purpose is “to equip students for a life of service and commitment to Christ and community.” We equip students by teaching them solid foundations academically but also spiritually. We begin each day with the pledge and devotions. In kindergarten we have a special prayer time, too. Christ is present in all we do When a conflict arises students are taught to ask for forgiveness, but they are also taught to forgive. In kindergarten, all students are expected to be reading and to understand basic math facts by the end of the school year. We believe in writing God’s word in our heart so that it is always with us; so we have Bible memory verse each week, also. At Shepherd of the Coast we embrace our diversity! To honor our Spanish speaking families, the kindergarten graduates recited John 3:16 in English and Spanish at their recent graduation ceremony. Any school can have high academic standards but at our school - we offer something special. With us, you also get teachers who truly love their students! That deep and abiding love comes from their foundation in Christ. Each teacher professes Christ as their savior. His teachings instruct us to love as He loved us. We do our very best to do that! Each student here will feel safe, supported and heard!

5 /5 Jessica Derrickson: The teachers are not only knowledgeable and dedicated, but they also genuinely care about each child’s academic and spiritual growth. The pastor is inspiring and approachable, and plays an active role in creating a warm, faith-centered community. The small class sizes allow for individualized attention, and the school environment feels incredibly safe and supportive. It truly feels like a family here.
