2 /5 Jacklyn Watz: Its more like a performance than a sermon... The Pastor maybe wants to be a signer/actor idk.... They play music for 80% of the "service", then when the Pastor comes on hes very loud end flashy but not actually saying much. Unfortunate because I was happy to find a modern black church, but this is the problem with my people sometimes. I go to church for the peace and solitude of a meaningful word, not yelling at me while you put on a fashion show.

1 /5 Christina Wynn: The pastors of this church are not true to who they claim to be. I may be biased to my own church hurt, but I have witnessed the leaders personally gossip about other members apart from myself. Despite my own personal experience with them, I have to be honest with my public experience with them. That’s all I have to say in that regard, they’re not who they appear to be and I’m sure former members agree. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of hate on this but this is mine and quite a few many others experiences. I’m just the only one to post publicly. Sorry not sorry, see for yourself.

Our church has been through many triumphs & tragedies, but Gods faithfulness has remained. Now, under the leadership of Pastors Anthony J. Brown & J.D. Bellamy, we are growing & thriving, reaching higher heights in Christ. The Word is brought with power & demonstration & the presence of the Lord is evident in every service. He cares, he prays for you, he reaches out when you aren’t there, he knows your name. He teaches the Bible in a way that makes you understand and makes you laugh. I enjoy coming every week more than I ever have. I believe God has something great for this church!

One thing I really love about the church is how they truly meet everyone where they are at. From the Alpha class that is geared towards new believers or non-believers with questions about faith to church membership and the CORE team for devoted Christian members who want to volunteer their time serving the community and the church family. I have found so much love and peach at the Church at Channelside! It is also right in the heart of the channelside area/Downtown Tampa, making it very easily accessible and walkable.

No weird stuff or sugar-coating here. Vanessa Crain: Small, but unified. They are very caring, and helpful. They have ALOT of things for the kids to do. The kids all have alot of fun. None of them want to miss a Wednesday! On most Wednesdays there is even a church bus for the kids who do not have a way there. Its the type of place where everyone knows each other. I recommend to anyone regardless of lifestyle or level of class. They have open arms for anyone! Mr. Terry and his wife as well as Ms. Pat are irreplaceable!

Cherl Redenius: Oakwood is a wonderful family-centered Church that is inclusive and friendly. We felt right away at home and were welcomed into their congregation. We visited other churches but none of them felt as warm and friendly as oakwood. There are lots of programs including small groups and programs for kids. They have a soccer Clinic twice a year for children, an easter event and Holiday events. They teach ESL to students for free, and offer many other opportunities including Bible studies womens meetings mens meetings and more. They also have a robust youth group and childrens ministry.
