2 /5 Lorin Prange: Pros- larger maternity section then the last Kohls I was in.
Cons- cashier was incredibly rude and condescending. I shopped for hours across multiple departments with the intention of using a particular coupon. I had been instructed by another associate in store that the coupon worked a certain way (I interacted with several associates, one of them multiple times, throughout my visit). Unfortunately the coupon did not give me as much of a discount on my particular items as I anticipated. When the cashier said the coupon did not work the way I thought, I kindly asked her to remove several items from my purchase. I did not get upset. I did not argue with or question her. I did not ask her to make an exception. I did not express any negativity about needing to put back the items. The items were things I added to my purchase only to get more use out of my coupon and not items I felt any negativity about putting back (I was happy with the other items I was purchasing and was firm in what my budget for this trip was). The cashier asked why I thought the coupon would cover my items. When I responded that I was told that by another associate, the cashier claimed that the other associate never would have said that the coupon worked for my items, glared at me, and made several rude remarks as she removed the two items from my purchase. I took responsibility for misunderstanding how the coupon worked and removing the two items took less than 60 seconds of her time. There was absolutely no reason to treat me with such rudeness and condescension. I treated her with nothing but respect and still made a purchase.
I have been shopping at Kohls for almost 30 years and definitely feel both customer service and product selection has decreased.
