Anytime Fitness - St. Petersburg (FL)

2 /5 Jared Miller: The new owner has done excellent work in creating a better experience for its members. Some of the homeless concerns have been addressed as well as the independent contractors within the facility. There is one issue that surprisingly has not changed and I believe it is simply because this issue has not been brought to the new owner’s attention. The number of Tierra Verde and Bayway Isles potential members that have chosen not to join this location because of the inability of staff to regulate a certain individual’s obnoxious commentaries is absurd. The individual is a large man with tattoos and a tie-on head covering for hair. From 4:30-6pm MON-FRI without fail, every thirty seconds, you will hear him YELL "Woooohoooo Yeah Buddy!" I have spoken with a number of members who feel exactly as I do and I am writing on behalf of them. Others that have simply cancelled their memberships in the past year, and chosen to drive the extra distance to the YMCA simply because of this individual and the atmosphere he promotes. Any other gym I have been to in the past has regulated this kind of behavior. I am a reasonable person and understand the need to emit certain sounds during strenuous activity , but there is absolutely no reason you should be inconveniencing your members during peak hours in an effort to allow one single member the ability to make constant proclamations at the expense of everyone elses need for a respectful workout environment. I will amend this post if the changes can be addressed and recommend the gym to many of those who have left over the years. I am fed up and felt it was necessary for the new owner to have some sort of notice of these events.

5 /5 Noor Alexander: I SUPER appreciate Dan, the club manager at this gym. From the start of my membership, I have experienced Dan as courteous, attentive, kind, generous, & helpful. He holds down the fort well at this center. I dont have a common name, & I was surprised/impressed that he remembered my name early on when I made a request. Dan is also super efficient, tracks things well, and can hold awareness of multiple things at once, which is a rare skill. It makes sense to me that hes the manager, & I think Anytime Fitness is lucky to have someone like him leading. Grateful.

5 /5 James Bridjmohan: I really enjoy this gym, always a fan of steel plates. However there is the issue with the individual sleeping in the power rack that is not being addressed. At times he is loud with multiple electronic devices in use, this gets disruptive and is not well accepted by fellow members. A few times the locker room was found in a chaotic state with what appeared to be his laundry hung out to dry. Ive been an Anytime Fitness member since 2014 and totally love this location, I hope this issue can be resolved soon. Thank you.

1 /5 Samuel Hammer: How would you like to share your gym space with a homeless person who uses dumbbells for a chair while he eats and drinks and yells on the phone in Chinese? How would you like it if this situation persisted for months after notifying the management?

5 /5 Charles Beale: One of the best Anytime Fitness is that I’ve worked out at. Compared to mine at Apollo Beach Florida. This one has a terminus amount of equipment and space to work out in. It is well organized, and the staff are very friendly. I enjoyed my workout here in my interaction with the team at Anytime Fitness St. Petersburg.
