1 /5 Dixie Testa Kent: Our father rolled over his 401k into an IRA with Charles Schwab managed by Financial Engines. Our father passed away on April 4th. I hand delivered the death certificate to Financial Engines on April 18th. Applications were to be sent to the beneficiaries and never were. After several phone calls and being pressured into meeting with the advisor, the advisor finally sent the applications on June 20th. His excuse is he didn’t have our addresses - he had our phone numbers. We filled out the applications and overnighted them to Schwab. It’s only August 16 and it’s still not done. Schwab claims this clown is playing games. We have been told FOUR times that it’s the wrong paperwork yet we get sent the exact same paperwork, it’s infuriating and unreal that a substantial clients children would be treated with such disregard, All we wanted to do is change the ownership on the IRA to the named beneficiaries. We are mourning and didn’t want to meet with an advisor. It is not necessary to meet to change ownership... all you need is a death certificate and an application. We had no intention of changing the broker dealer - Schwab- and would have met with the advisor in time. Now they have the entire process so twisted and messed up that the only way to fix it is to contact the state attorney’s office,. Beyond disappointed - our father would be livid that these snakes are treating his children this way. They were so worried that we might transfer to another broker that they have resorted to playing games and stall tactics. They deserve -10 stars and jail time,
