2 /5 JimBeam: Owner was pushy to do a deal that I very reluctantly agreed to after saying I am selling for family member and they dont want to go lower than this amount (which bothered them btw) wouldnt give me what was the fair market value in the monthly retailer book ( according to another shop) but exactly 500 below.. I have email quotes of 500 and 5-700 dollars more from 2 different shops the same day.. I should have waited another day to sell that, part was my fault although as a business I would want to do fair deals and not do anything for a buck if it makes others uncomfortable, he was just trying to middle man and make a quick buck. I know this now because he was on the phone asking about the watch which showed the inexperience, and they never put the watch up for sale on their site... also it took them 3 people and 20 minutes to just take off the bracelet and read the serial # and they took the watch next door, out of sight... big no no if you ask me... I would have a higher standard than that... But the worst part was the owner then decided to say "will you drive with me to go get my cash at the bank" after I signed all the papers and left my watch there..... While my girlfriend was in the car. they even told me they had cash on hand that they said they wanted to be able to use on the weekend when they "buy the most watches".. A professional would go do that on their own time if they cared about running a proper business... Then he was pushy again after I tried to say I dont want to make my girlfriend wait, Yet still we drove there during rush hour while he got honked at and almost hit a pedestrian.. This all made it a terrible experience, especially after realizing my family member was 100% right in not wanting to go below the certain amount. If only I had known that they were just trying to make a quick buck and middle man it. The lesson here to others is if you are selling a watch, Shop it around at a couple of places you will most likely get more which is well worth the little effort in these trying times... and the transaction will almost definitely go a lot smoother and that is my main contention here, the professionalism was definitely lacking compared to what a standard business practices.
