1 /5 AMILI GIRL: I had been eager to try Aura Lounge and was excited to bring my sister from NYC for a special night out. The setting lived up to its name. The ambiance was lovely and the music was on point. Unfortunately, the service completely shattered the experience.
We chose to sit at the bar, which only had a few other guests. Our bartender seemed uninterested and distracted, possibly due to training, but this is no excuse for neglecting customers. It took 20 minutes just to place our food and drink order.
The issues escalated when our food arrived without any plates or cutlery. For 15 minutes, we tried to catch the eye of either bartender, one was preoccupied with training and the other was texting on her phone. Feeling utterly invisible and frustrated, we decided to cut our losses and leave. Even then, it took 10 minutes to get our check.
We werent the only ones; our neighbors were leaving for identical reasons, citing "attitudes" from the staff. As someone who frequents a variety of restaurants and values good service, I was deeply disappointed. Aura has a good concept, but until they address this severe lack of customer focus, I cannot recommend it and will not be back.
