3 /5 richard tischner: It was only day two and it’s only fair to give some time for a new restaurant to work out the kinks. Ours was not a fantastic experience. The service was the best aspect. Although it’s not five star, it’s 4+. We were more disappointed in the food. Two members of our group of four had main dishes that were not bad, not great. Two of us had dishes that could have been produced at a local grocery store in the ready to eat section. The quality of the meals seemed as though they came from one of the mass producer restaurant suppliers ( doesn’t really fit the “Nonna Mia” name.) The “family style” portions are not really family style and it only seems to justify a high price ( which we would be delighted to pay if the food was worth it). The menu is in the form of recipe cards held together with binder rings and we were told it will be revised and the change would be welcomed. It was a little difficult. Our group is the type to go back and try a restaurants again even if the first dining wasn’t the best. Again, The service was very good and we are hopeful that Nonna Mia will become what it’s meant be. We can certainly use a really good Italian restaurant in Amelia island.
