1 /5 Jarred Marcus: The Pulled Pork was fantastic — right up until my girlfriend discovered a piece of plastic wrap mixed into her sandwich. She actually chewed on it and nearly swallowed it before realizing what it was. I’ve never experienced anything like this at a restaurant.
After that, we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat the rest of the pulled pork sandwich or even the pulled pork appetizer we had ordered — both clearly came from the same batch. It’s honestly unsettling to think we may have ingested smaller bits of plastic before noticing.
Our server was kind but surprisingly unfazed, which makes me wonder if this sort of thing happens more often than it should. They comped the sandwich and gave 25% off the rest of the bill, but looking back, the entire meal should’ve been taken care of as only a few bites were taken before the incident. At that point, though, we just wanted to leave — it was genuinely disturbing.
The food had potential, but this experience was unacceptable. If you do eat here, please check your food carefully. Hopefully this was a one-off mistake, but it didn’t feel that way in the moment.
