  • Constitution Convention Museum State Park - Port St Joe Ashley Gilmore-Sanders: The Constitution Convention Museum in Port St. Joe is small, but excellent. The park ranger, Joanna Lindsey was wonderful. She was full of information about the history of the area and she spent quite a bit of time talking with my daughter about everything from the constitution and yellow fever ravaging the town to local ghost stories. My daughter could have listened to her for hours. She clearly has a love for her job. We will definitely visit again when in Port St. Joe.
George Core Park (Lighthouse Park) - Momma Bear: Beautiful place. Warning though if your child is not a certain height they cannot Climb the tower. We were disappointed I had 4 kiddos only 2 could climb so we didnt do it.
Frank Pate Park - Jennifer Thomas Archer: This was a beautiful park. It was very quiet, clean and a breath of fresh air. Our toddler lived playing on the pirate ship playground while we swung under a nearby tree. There were a handful of families, fisherman and workers working on the nearby building.
Cape San Blas Lighthouse - Port St Joe BEE KOOL: Very cool lighthouse and with fabulous views. It is taller than it looks. I would not recommend purchasing tickets at the visitor center if you have any phobias of tight spaces or heights. There is also a height restriction for children who are under about 4ft due to safety reasons. The stairs are narrow and quite steep and it is a trek to climb up but the view is spectacular. The grounds lead out to the shore. There are picnic areas. Great place to walk to from downtown.
St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve Visitor Center - Port St Joe Eric Vowell: Its kind of a cool little off the highway roadside park. There are a few units there, as well as an information station and an observation platform that are a few stories high. Kind of cool views of the Bay from the observation deck. The facilities there are clean. The only issue that I had with the park is we couldnt find staff there that could answer some questions that we had. But all in all, a nice little brief respite from the drive along the coast. Offered up some nice views of the bay. We will definitely visit again
Cape Palms Park - Port St Joe Barry Walker: Great place for dogs. We went for a short day trip and enjoyed the water and sand. The road to the beach for vehicles was not usable. Stick to the boardwalk. Yes we dug a deep hole but we filled it back in so it wasnt a danger nor erosion problem. Be respectful if you dig on the beach!
Turtle Fountain - Port St Joe Tammy Dee Cook: Nice place to take family photos
Port St. Joe Gazebo - Pitirre Boricua: Port St. Joe is a hidden gem in Florida. Nice downtown with food options, particularly sea food. Its walkable and the sunsets are spectacular!
Upper Alapaha Conservation Area - Elvetta McDaniel: Every time I go kayaking or canoeing Down the River via the alapaha or the Suwannee River its the most tranquil unique experience there is. Its such a beautiful place to go with friends or by yourself. That day that we went we saw a big beautiful owl that just sat there and wasnt afraid of us at all. We saw some deer and some other Wildlife not to mention fish and some snakes. Anytime I need to have a little mini vacation all I do is get my husband to help me get my kayak into the alapaha and he picks me up further down the road and its just beyond words everybody has to experience that even once youll never forget it and youll never regret it.
Bat House - Live Oak Wick Oliver: Just after sunset you can hear the bats getting restless and moving around inside the bat house. Within 10 minutes after sunset the thousands of bats exit from the underside of the house. and there are thousands of them. A very incredible sight.
