Upper Alapaha Conservation Area - (FL)

5 /5 Elvetta McDaniel: Every time I go kayaking or canoeing Down the River via the alapaha or the Suwannee River its the most tranquil unique experience there is. Its such a beautiful place to go with friends or by yourself. That day that we went we saw a big beautiful owl that just sat there and wasnt afraid of us at all. We saw some deer and some other Wildlife not to mention fish and some snakes. Anytime I need to have a little mini vacation all I do is get my husband to help me get my kayak into the alapaha and he picks me up further down the road and its just beyond words everybody has to experience that even once youll never forget it and youll never regret it.

5 /5 Amanda Davis: The Alapaha river is my favorite of our many local rivers. Not because of if its beautiful water but just the fact that its so interesting and mysterious. The Alapaha is an intermittent River, only flowing sometimes, and other times it is dry. Often times parts of this River are dry and other parts still flowing because of two sinkholes in this River that swallow the river into the ground. I enjoy exploring and Hiking this River also as it has many sinkholes and karst windows!
