Travis George: The Historical Museum is located right off Main BLVD and the admission is free. There is a lot of history to Lake City and there is now a Black History exhibit. They are only open three days a week Tuesday, Thursday and f you have nothing to do it is worth a tour.
Anna: Park is dirty, poorly maintained and in a sketchy area of town. Mulch is almost completely pulverized, most of the plat structures are covered in mildue stains, and rust. Random people smoking outside with no children with them and homeless people sleeping on picnic tables.
Spencer S: We hiked the James Montgomery Trail. The description says its a “One hour hike” but does not list distance. Well, its 3miles. Lovely trail. We saw alligators and snapping turtles (laying eggs). Restrooms were very clean. This is a wonderful park. Kudos to those that manage it because you’re doing a great job!
Befaithful Coker: The Darby Pavilion was awesome. The facility is spacious, clean, surrounded by amphitheatre styled seating, a park for playing, and enough space for outdoor games such as tug of war etc with plenty of parking.
Jenn Marie: My family and I had the most incredible visit to Jungle Dorias! We originally went up to upriver adventures for a swamp buggy tour but enjoyed the wildlife park so much that we booked a return visit the following day with a Capybara encounter for our son. Let me tell you, this was the highlight of our vacation. If you are nearby, please stop in for a visit. The staff here are all above and beyond awesome. They are all so kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about the animals in their care. Thank you so much for everything!
Jeremy Tellier: What an amazing experience!!! My family and I drove 3 hours to go fossil hunting. We found a lot of shark teeth and some other really cool stuff in just a few hours! I would highly recommend Brownville park. They also have a campground at the same location that is very affordable! Next time we will definitely camp for a few days
Larry Wayne Klosterman: Large assortment of Florida fossils and fossils from other locations. Small classes with personal attention. Arcadia and the Peace River is an excellent location for hunting fossils with your family. Classes geared for children, but Dr. Parker has a PhD in biology and paleontology.
Brandy Bemis: A wonderful day trip every time. Long easy walking/running/biking trails. Bring a snack & stay hydrated! Pavilions with bench seating & clean restrooms with a drinking fountain. Good for children & pets. No fishing inside the park. Also closes at sunset.
