5 /5 Jeremy Tellier: What an amazing experience!!! My family and I drove 3 hours to go fossil hunting. We found a lot of shark teeth and some other really cool stuff in just a few hours! I would highly recommend Brownville park. They also have a campground at the same location that is very affordable! Next time we will definitely camp for a few days

There are showers and ok restrooms Plenty of parking for those launching a kayak. Just dont block the road to the hiking trails The hiking trails are about a mile long and very easy, but it is a day out in the woods If you paddle here be sure to plan for a significant current We went up stream for the start and paddled back in half the time with wind and water in our favor. Even though its a bit of a ride from punta Gorda or Port Charlotte, I cannot wait to get back. Lots of birds and even a few alligators make it even more interesting

5 /5 Angela Curry: I come here every chance I get. Its $2 to enter for a car. The park is absolutely Beautiful. There plenty of parking and there is also a Campground. Theres a boat ramp to help drop kayaks. If youre bringing a boat sheck water levels. Ive seen it super low and really high. Perfect spot to bring you kids because its Great for fossil hunting! You can find shark teeth, bones, horse teeth, native American beads and other cool things

5 /5 Amanda Tucker: We went for the day to play in the water and look for sharks teeth and fossils. The water felt amazing. Found lots of sharks teeth and some fossils. The forest was beautiful and the camp ground was nice. The camp host was very friendly as well. We had a great time.

5 /5 Celtic Wanderer: Great place to relax on a slow flowing river, campsites can be prebooked (call the local parks and rec) but daily parking fee is $2. Boat ramp mainly for kayaks and shallow draughts, many camping slots for tents or campers, dump site (for trailer registered campers). Hard building facilities for bathroom and shower. Beautiful river and a wonderful peaceful setting!!

Deep Creek Preserve - Arcadia

Brad Loncar: I originally entered the trails at the Deep Creek Park entrance and, to be honest, really hated it there. In many areas the grass was tall (watch where you step) or deep sand. I also found the trail markings (many are posted on trees) to be a little confusing and I took a couple of wrong turns. After exploring for about an hour, I left and went to the primary entrance where the old campground is located. It was only slightly better. Also, there is nothing interesting to see, although I was on the main entrance area trails for only a short while. There is plenty of parking at the main entrance in front of the gate, btw, something I couldn’t tell with certainty from other reviews. In general, there are plenty of other good trails in the area to visit before this one.

Fanning Springs State Park - Fanning Springs

J. Ray: State Park pass holder so I visit as much as I can yearly. Nice pretty cool spring water. Nice boardwalk with a river lookout. Picnic tables. Grills Trails. Obviously there will be biting insects and ticks - it’s wooded! Cool huge cypress trees. Ramp and steps. Would be wonderful if people didn’t have out on the steps and the floating dock. Spring run is separated and boats do pull up. Not a bad experience. Photos on a Saturday, the weekend after Memorial Day so wasn’t too bad for a weekend. Concessions but didn’t get anything by so no sure what they serve.

Patricia Middleton: The grounds and home are well maintained. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. There are only 5 tours on Thursday - Sunday so check out the date and time before you go. We went on a Tuesday and had to go back on Thursday for the tour of the inside of the house.

Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens - Jacksonville

Kelly Morris: This museum is a nice little gem. It was easy to find and parking is just across the street. The highlight of my visit was the garden. The azaleas were blooming, which gave the garden such nice color and promise of Spring. The museum was nice with unusual art displays. The childrens section of the museum was impressive with hands on displays. I cant wait to bring grandkids here.

Friendship Fountain - Jacksonville

Ashley Coop: What a VAST improvement!! This is a special spot in the city. You could spend the entire day out here if you have the energy. I am so happy to see the city invest in our children. From the sails that double as shade to the bouncy soft ground, this playground is perfect. Got the stamp of approval from all the kids- my 1, 4, and 9 year olds. I even saw a few parents having fun. Pack some drinks and snacks, some sunblock, and cancel your appointments for the day. See you there!
